COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

On tap @ Chucks 85th. Pours inky black, just shy of opaque. Thick mocha head. Aroma is chocolate and some oak. Taste is dark chocolate, charred malts, a bit of coffee, and slight spice on the back. Thick, coating, delicious. Truly a dessert beer. I liked the espresso oak aged version of yeti just a bit more, but hard to argue with this.

(355ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours black with a big pale brown head and a little lace. Aroma of somewhat smoky pepper, a little spicy bite from the cayenne, lots of dark chocolate, bitter cacao, dry roasted malts, coffee grounds, earth, light conifer needles, a bit powdery. On the palate, extremely dry, unsweetened cacao nibs, cayenne, astringent roast, very light dark malt sweetness at first is quickly quashed. Finish is bone dry and then some, moderate cayenne heat, wood, powdery burnt bitterness, a touch of drying alcohol.

commonmac (1191) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 24, 2017
On tap at Republic Seven Corners before the Wavves show. Belgian snifter glass. Looks thick and chocolatey with over a finger of deep tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and roasty, nutty characteristics. Taste envelopes the palette with a smooth, silky chocolate balanced well with an almost bourbon like smoke and alcohol bite. Love the vanilla component and agree with other raters that there is a hint of spice heat towards the end. Big and boozy. More bitterness than expected...dark chocolate playing its part. Like a dangerous dessert. Ill track down this yeti again.

Surprise surprise aroma is chocolate dominant with a slight coffee (maybe more cocoa than chocolate). Lacks some thickness, sweetness is disturbed. Good but not great.

Bomber, 2014 vintage. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate, oak, vanilla and a bit of cayenne. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has some retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt and chocolate malt flavors to go with a full body and a smooth viscous mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with notes of vanilla and oak with cayenne providing a spicy kick at the end that lingers on the palate. Really nice imperial stout.

Flaska frn SB.

I smaken tilkommer chili, vilket snker betyget fr min del.
