We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

This beer poured nice and thick! You could smell the chocolate from the glass. A - There was very little head and it wasnt over carbonated. Poured very thick. A - Dark, Dark and well....dark T - Again, the chocolate for me really came out. It didnt seem boozy even though its coming in at 9.5%! P - Not to crazy and complex. I loved it. When a beer has to much going Im not a fan. O - Id purchase this again. Im not sure how it would age. I think Ill purchase one to see..

Easy to rate, immense amount of flavor. Not really as much a whiskey flavor as strong oak at the end.

DATE: November 25, 2016... OCCASION: home from Black Friday with the parents and Jer... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... bought to celebrate the Yeti Recognition Week... black, intimidating body with a three-finger stack of creamy, thick brown head... creates high arches that sit atop columns... thick cocoa wafts through the nostrils, with vanilla and thick dough malts, and espresso bean--the coffee mystique is palpable... as promising as the aroma portends, the bliss is in the sipping--thick, warming and full-bodied dessertif... long, lingering aftertaste that maintains its chocolate essence... cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, sweet and toasted malts, and more chocolate--the cayenne puts the heat in this powerful, empowering bottle.... at 1 pint 6 oz., enough of a return akin to a bourbon... a massive stand-alone that is worth its price point...

Aroma - cocoa, caramelized sugar, roast, alcohol, and iron. Appearance - the body is black, the head is a light brown and over 2+". Head takes some time to settle. Some draped lacing and alcohol cloying. Taste - has rich cocoa nibs, coffee, caramel, caramelized sugar, roast, marshmallow, molasses, and oaky alcohol. Palate - full bodied, sticky and creamy texture, the carbonation is average, the finish sweet and slightly astringent.

Aromas a chocolate, caf y maltas tostadas. De color negro, corona de espuma abundante de buena retencin, carbonatacion media. Al paladar las notas a chocolate destacan sobre el caf, sin embargo no son agresivas y estan bien integradas. En boca es cremosa, aterciopelada, sedosa y exquisita.

fresh bottle, enjoyed from a tulip glass; poured pitch black, thin but creamy head. First sniff was like eating a tootsie roll. Taste: loads of chocolate, a little too much for my liking. Not a bad imperial stout, but I just prefer a bit more balance with hints of chocolate rather than dominating chocolate

Kind of leans a little towards a traditional Russian imperial stout. Aroma is lots of cocoa a little molasses some hops and black patent malt. Flavor is a lot like nose some sweetness a little Carbonic Tang. Bitter in the Finish. More of a sipping beer.
