COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

355ml can at Agenturet, shared with Finn. Hazy golden body, firm white head, fair lacing. Aroma of herbal hops, mid-sweet and lightly spiced. Mild spiced fruity flavours, impact of succulent oranges. Dried fruity ending. Fine bodied. Very smooth in the mouth. Pleasant. (Tromsø 02.09.2017).

355ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, fluffy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy yeasty and slightly unspecific fruity aroma, hints of unripe peach and apricot, underlying banana, a touch of mustard seed, coriander and dill. Taste is slightly dry, minimally tart, yeasty, hoppy, residual fruity sweetness, hints of pear and banana, yeasty herbal and minimally peppery spiciness. Not really concrete.

4,50Euro/0,3.

Have had from the bottle and can, one of the few beers that Great Divide still bottles regularly. Great summer beer, refreshingly fruity with some bubblegummy banana lingering on your tongue after the sip is gone. Would and have bought again

Body is medium, malty - some wheat and lightly sweetish - sweetish flavor, light caramel and banana, light fruitiness and herbal hoppyness, light yeast. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light caramel and banana withlight fruitiness, light herbal hoppyness and yeast. More like hefe weizen than saison. Big white head doesn’t last. Slightly hazy yellow body with light carbonation. Pungent spicy orangey aroma with sugary toffee notes. Peppery, bready things going on. Certainly complex. Sweet spicy fruity sugary taste with bread herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry mealy spicy fruity aftertaste with grassy herbal notes. Interesting, for sure. Highly drinkable and complex. Why they think the Belgians used rice in their farmhouse ale I can’t tell. This is about as farmhouse as the space shuttle, but whatever, at least it’s a good beer. (0.355l can, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)
