12 oz. bottle packaged on October 20, 2016. Heres another beer Im surprised I havent rated by this point. The pour is slightly hazy with a deep gold, just a little darker than your average saison. A small white head sticks around for a while. Aroma has notes of orange, pepper, clove, and banana. The palate is pretty full and though dry, not as dry as the style can be. Flavors of pineapple, wheat, pepper, and a subtle noble hop balance are found. This grows on me with each sip as usual. The use of rice is pretty smart. I doubt Id pick it out on my own but it seems to add just a little sweet, grainy character. The finish is citrusy and the pineapple suggestions mount. Definitely a competent saison. Its not as aggressively dry or phenolic as some of its contemporaries.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow with a small white head that has good retention. The aroma is medium in strength with Belgian yeast, candied pears and some breead dough. The taste features candied white fruits and a hint of peppery spice. The palate is full. Finishes long a sweet with lingering rock candy. Overall: Not bad but just a tad too sweet for my liking.
