COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treatsa beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

May 31st, 2011 - When Spring turns into Summer and the sun gets to be a little heavier in the sky, the fun and heady wheat beers of a month ago lose some of their potency. Something drier, with a heavier grain profile becomes a more suitable beer for cutting the sweat and anguish of an oppressive day. The Colette is a perfect fit for these transitional days, beautiful and burning bright with a dandelion yellow hue and a finger of soft, white foam. Banana and clove and a little corn tortilla rise from the surface, giving off light but coating smells. Fresh and full of grains, Great Divide did an excellent job of capturing the smell of the fields and putting that romantic image into a bottle. Full bodied and busy with a sharp and serrated aftertaste, the Colette can cut through dry mouth or thirst, with ample uplifting alcoholic corn and tortilla and flowery dandelion tastes, like bitter mizuna greens, a subtle vegetable bitterness and again, flowing dry graininess.

Cloudy yellow beer with smallish head on top. Beautiful when light shines through. Aroma has wheat, banana, sweet fruits. Taste is sweet with banana, this is more like hefeweizen than farmhouse ale. Medium to light

Almost like a beer salad; a beer fruit salad. Pretty tasty. (I cant detect, however, the rice.) But, again and overall, tasty powerful.

12 oz. bottle packaged on October 20, 2016. Heres another beer Im surprised I havent rated by this point. The pour is slightly hazy with a deep gold, just a little darker than your average saison. A small white head sticks around for a while. Aroma has notes of orange, pepper, clove, and banana. The palate is pretty full and though dry, not as dry as the style can be. Flavors of pineapple, wheat, pepper, and a subtle noble hop balance are found. This grows on me with each sip as usual. The use of rice is pretty smart. I doubt Id pick it out on my own but it seems to add just a little sweet, grainy character. The finish is citrusy and the pineapple suggestions mount. Definitely a competent saison. Its not as aggressively dry or phenolic as some of its contemporaries.
