UPDATED: APR 5, 2013 Espresso coffee smell. Flavor is strong with espresso but pretty bitter for a stout. I would have this again

As every Yeti stout pours oily black with gorgeous brown creamy long lasting stable head. Aroma reveals intense notes of roasted grain, coffee beans, molasses, cacao nibs, cacao dark chocolate, vanilla...flavour follows aroma with intensity, but at the same time is even more complex: roasted grain, hufe roasted cofffee flavours, supported with dark chocolate, cacao, vanilla, toasted toffee, molasses, dark fruits esters, some woody notes...hop bitterness is - as by regular Yeti - very high, finish is dry, bitter (hops&roasted grain), body is full, texture almost creamy, carbonation is moderate.

Sample at Jack Browns. Very dark with full mocha head. Smells like coffee with a hint of sourdough and chocolate. Nice dry roasty flavor. Light and dry.

Pours an oily Deepwater Horizonish black with a dark frothy brown head. Alcohol is immediately noticeable in the nose but not really the initial sip. As advertised definitely some strong black coffee in there. A bit strong out of the gate for my liking. Good but I would not buy again

My 100th United States of America rating. Tasted from the tap on the 25/03/2017. Opaque black colour with a large and persistente tan brown head. Aroma of coffee, oak barrels, dark chocolate and some vainilla. Taste of roasted coffee grains, medium liquor and vanilla. Medium sweet and dry aftertaste. Soft carbonation and medium liquor finish. Next one please!

200 ml. draft @ Gollem: USA Beerweek(end) #2. Expensive affair. Regular Yeti was way back the first RIS I ever tried, instant love so this is nostalgia. Black with thick very dark creamy mousse head. Nose is big roast, more bitterness than expected, thick molasses, syrupy, sweet dates, sugar with huge roast, roasted, not really getting the oak unless if they burned it or something. Taste is mix of bitter roasted coffee and molasses, sweet syrupy molasses with strong bitterness, bitter mocha, bitter espresso, huge roast, mocha. Thick molasses, bitter mocha body, touch boozy finish. Far more bitter than I prefer but very nice all the same, very thick roasted molasses structure.

0.6l bottle from somewhere Ive completely forgotten. I have Actually been keeping this for a couple of years waiting for an occasion. It never really came so om just popping it now. It says its bottled on Jan 2012. Looks like in pouring black motor oil in the glass and it has a really big and impressive looking super dark and heavy lacing creamy head. Flawless. Lots of aromas in this. Its so dominated by dark chocolate and dry cocoa powder but it also has a kinda sweetish fudge like sweetness. I had to leave the glass for a while and when I came back I has just popped completely with all these vanilla woody lovely aromas. It reminds me a bit of this really fantastic home made dark chocolate pudding I once made with extra vanilla pods and a shot of dark coffee and rather pricey dark chocolate. Its just amazing to hold against the nose. Oh my this is good. Its so thick and pleasing in the mouth. A bit like drinking double cream just added small prickling bubbles, and the flavor! Damn, this is roasted this. Im so pleased that it actually still tastes extremely clear of espresso. That dark bitter and really flavorful little cup of espresso that always goes away much to fast, just this time I have a full bottle of the that flavor. Lots of dark chocolate and chocolate pudding in the taste also. I get a clear flavor that this has been oaked but its as far off from being mouth-drying as you can get. Almost velvety. Also it never gets to much because it, despise its age also has a strong hop presens all the way. The aftertaste is of the kind that never stops. So roasted and flavorful. Reminds me of the first time I had George. This one just blew me away. Fantastic! 08.04.2014

have always loved the yetis. Loved. had this one twice and for some reason (changing taste buds?) not feeling it. bottle aged 2 years - 1/7/2015. too much burnt/overcharred taste. bitter hops. still a yeti but least favorite one. need to try the regular one again.
