4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 66 cl @ Karhisma Birroteca (Piedimonte Matese, Caserta - Italy). Best before 02/15/12, so I think has at least 1 year aging. Well, I had a freshier one many times ago and my impressions are that aging increase its balance. Yetis normal version is totally hopped, dry and herbaceous, while young Espresso Oak Aged suffers from coffee influence. This one, on the contrary, puts in the middle: aroma is completely rich. You’ll find citrus, orange, blood orange, coffee beans, chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, burned sugar, ashes, licorice, roots, pineapple. Body is heavy BLACK with a solid cappuccino foam, and gives you a viscous taste full of roasted and burned malt with the classic Yeti sharpness and fizzness; add some dark fruits, cocoa, vanilla. Moreover, finish introduce a good complexity. The dryness of whiskey, resinous as pine, moka and licorice notes again, dark chocolate and lasts long. In the end, finish the entire 66 bottle is so hard, but just for the body strength; alcohol doesn’t stun you and it’s very well hidden. So, we are in front of a great example of coffee IRS.
Bottle during HF tick fest; opaque dark brown pour with a bubbly dark tan head, aroma has strong coffee and chocolate, taste has light vanilla, sweet milk chocolate, decent coffee. Piotrek4 (246) - Lublin, POLAND - SEP 11, 2017
Really good Stout. Starts with a strong espresso flavor and ends fairly smooth. Overall a good Stout, but the finish had a little bitterness. Not much, but too much to be in the same class as other top tier stouts.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2017 Bottle from K&L in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is woody, vegetal, coffee beans, cocoa, mild vanilla. Taste is bitter and woody, black espresso. Not picking up any sweetness here, which is a surprise. Extremely bitter and ashy, heavy on the espresso with very little vanilla or malt on the palate. Also, very hoppy. Easily my least favorite Yeti so far.
Update: Originally served at cellar temp but had another glass colder (from the fridge) and I preferred this a bit colder (think cold brew / iced coffee).
