COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Brought a 22 oz bomber back form Denver. Poured into two Great Divide Cervois glasses to split with my wife. The beer is a deep-golden red color with good head retention. Wasnt sure what to expect never having any "fresh hop" beers before. I was not disappointed. The hops are distinct, but not over-bearing. The citrus flavor is still there, but it seems smoother and not so sharp. The aroma is citrusy with a grassy back ground. Mouthfeel is only slightly slick. This is a very drinkable beer. I wish I could have brought more back.

New label for 2008. Nice amber color, fluffy persistent head. As the commercial description says, "intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma." I like bold hops, but this needs balance.

A nose of strawberries, "rulltrta", metal, grape and lemon. Taste is of citrus, dandelion, anis, iron and grass. It has a little acidity to it, and finish is bitter and salty in a well-balanced way. Very drinkable and elegant for an APA.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle (dated Oct. 3, 2012) into a becker pint glass. Pours a honey golden with rich amber hues with a fluffy one and half finger head. The smell of sweet pineapple and fresh grassy notes on the nose is very inviting. Opens with pineapple, flora, and grassy accents, joined by slight breadiness and malt with just the perfect level of sweetness to balance this brew midpalate. Finishes smooth with just a hint of grapefruit rind and pine sap and a slight bite. Medium bodied with a slick, oily, and slight soapy mouthfeel, perfect for a wet hop ale. I look forward to this brew every year. The drinkability of the brew is exceptional as the other characteristics of the brew are not overwhelmed by intense bitterness.

This is a great beer. Soft and tender like an old lover. This pours light amber and clear with an off white head. Nice lacing with a head that does not settle too quickly. Floral nose, almost soapy. Sharp flavor, crisp citrus (grapefruit dominates with some lime). Finishes is of refreshing hops. A great Beer!

Pours a pale orange with a thin off-white head that lasts. Flavor, honestly reminds me of a dumbed down hercules. The hops are subdued and piney, the malts are robust and roasty. Its a nice beer but from great divide, Ive come to expect better

Wonderful aroma. Real clean and crisp. Slightly above average for a fresh hop beer

Nice caramel color and lacing. Mild grassy aroma. Tastes a little sweet, grassy with a little pine coming through. Moderate bitterness and a dry finish. Less bitter than an ipa but different for a pale ale.

Bomber. Pours a deep, clear copper, with a creamy off-white head that last. There are some floaties in the glass (and bottle)...not sure why. Perhaps some yeast. Aroma is a nice mellow hoppiness with some toasty and grassy notes....pleasant. Medium body, some warmth in the finish. Flavor starts with an accertive bitterness, that last into the finish. Intense hop flavor, but the base beer carries it nicely. Some slight sweetness. Overall, a very nice, everyday drinking APA...very enjoyable, and much more flavor and complexity than is usually found in this style.

22 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Pours a beautiful light gold with a one finger head that steadily dissapates. The taste was quite impressive. Very, very fresh hop taste with little bitterness. Impressed, would get again and recommend.
