COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules’ aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2006 Perfect IPA! Aroma is subtle and hops don’t overpower. Copper color with good tan head. Flavor is strong, hops bold yet leaves the palate clean (unlike many IPAs).

An orange red with a translucent haze. Bold head with a nice glaze. Sweet, carmel, and hoppy smell. This is a great full bodied beer.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2005 Slightly hazy amber. Nice thick off-white tan head. Leaves lacing. Aroma is caramel, sweet, hops. Palate is full bodied and smooth. In an odd way it finishes quick yet it has a slight lingering aftertaste. Certainly bitter. Flavor is of hops and caramel, much as was in the nose. Nice Imperial IPA. Love it.

An excellent choice, very "hopssy" with a deep copper hue. Aroma has great whiffs of hops and malt. An excelletn choice

Bottle. Pours a copper orange color. with a great thin white heat with excellent glass lacing. Aroma of malty hops, pine, and grapefruit. Flavor is dominate by hops, but with strong notes of malt, flowes, and a piney warming finish. Medium to full body finishes out this well rounded beer.

deep copper color with nice lasting head, nice lacing continued for the duration, pine & citrus and grapefruit up front, citrus continues throughout, malt overtones bring it to life just before the big citrus dry finish. quite nicely balanced for a double.

Dark copper color with a large head that immediately overran the bounds of my glass... Once that settled down, a huge aroma of grapefruit is presented. Definite hops, but the grapefruit blows away the floral hints. Taste has a moderate malt base, but this is definitely about letting hops run free. The pine didn’t show for me, but the grapefruit did recess enough to let the floral come out to play. A wonderfully balanced IIPA. Even though the citrus was very up front and malt was pretty quiet, it never seemed overpowering and off-putting.

Pours red with a huge tan resinous head. Aroma seems pour pine this time, with a candy sweetness. Very piney flavor with a splash of grapefruit. Brash bitterness. Oily palate. Certaily aggressive, but pleasant.

Tons of grapefruit aroma. as it warms I detect some Amarillos. Not a lot of malts here. Dark copper orange with a smallish beige head. As it warms, the head becomes very sticky. Nice. Bitterness overload. No too much balance. This thing grabs your tongue in a full nelson and has not intent of braking the hold. Medium body. Pretty puckering and astrigent. I’d take Hercules over most beer, but for IIPAs, very avarage.

Pours copper with a thick, lasting, creamy head. Great strong hop aroma and a great bitter kick balanced with plenty of malt. Solid brew. Exceptional with any kind of spicy food too!

I loved the hops in this one, citrusy, abit of malt too, Poured a huge head, very warming, a little alcohol burn, but I couldn’t wait to have this one! Thanks to Secret santa for this one!
