UPDATED: SEP 4, 2006 (Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Hazy orange, nice creamy offwhite head. Very hoppy and spicy aroma, orange and with floral notes, dry and with citrus and grapefruit. Very, very hoppy flavor, dry, grassy, pine notes and some malty notes can also be found next to the almost extreme hoppiness. Great to feel how almost no alcohol comes through. UPDATED: JUN 17, 2007 This not quite orange, not quite amber but somewhere in between Double IPA pours with a super huge, creamy off white head. Aroma is a sweet mix of hops, alcohol, malt, orange, grapefruit, pine, flower shop, Christmas tree, and candy store. The flavor is incredible! This beer has a sweet and satisfying mouthfeel that I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Actually, calling this stuff beer is like calling Godiva chocolate candy. It’s just too good. From the very first to the very last sip flavors of sweet floral candy, citrus, sweet malt, toffee, HOPS, pine, alcohol, sugar and caramel coated nuts ensnare the senses and titillate the tastebuds. Hell, this beer made me use the word titillate...what does that tell you? It’s just simply incredible. Honestly, if I only had one beer on earth to drink I’d hope it would be this one. I can’t say enough good things about it. Without a doubt Hercules Double IPA is my favorite beer; at least as of 10/1/05. Overall...I love this beer!!! Woo...this is one powerful IPA. Nicely carbonated, strong floral scent, well balanced--masks the significant alcohol content. Excellent strong IPA. fluids (364) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 30, 2005
Extra Nitter very very hoppy. More hoppy actually then I prefer. There is a toffee like Peat component. Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - SEP 30, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 28, 2005 Bottle. Amber with small lasting beige head and nice lace. Caramel, sweet, certainly hoppy, fruity ( passion fruit, peach, grape), piney, long bitter finish. Soft, creamy mouthfeel, full bodied. Not as radical as expected; rounded and balanced. Relatively easy drinking, though this is the sort of beer you REALLY have to be in the mood for, and not something I would want to drink on an "everyday" basis.

Extreme hops in aroma, with some cirtus and malty touches. Taste is malty and a bit fruity, and extreme amounts of hops. QUESTor (5) - Rockledge, Florida, USA - SEP 27, 2005 does not count
Love this.. If you enjoy IPAs, add this to your must try list. Bold, but not overwhelming. Nice hoppy tingle, but married to some sweeter undertones. Should sell by the 6 pack :-) bitter (1136) - Henderson, Nevada, USA - SEP 27, 2005
on draft tap house bellvue, WA. this was an impressive big beer. probably shouldnt of been served in a pint glass or as cold as it was. none the less the experience was still good. as the beer warms the sweet malty alcohol ember grows. at first mostly you get a fresh cut hop flavor of orange grapefruit bitterness on the back of your tongue. pushes you into a haze of dragon proportions with the subliminal heat of alchol and vanilla nut that churns your stomach. too strong for my lady, but good sippn for me. daddy likes, alot. UPDATED: MAR 7, 2006 [22 oz.] Pours an orange/copper color, with a nice, creamy head. This is an excellent doubleIPA - great balance of bitterness and other background flavors (malt, toffee). I’d love to try this on tap- this is outstanding.
