UPDATED: OCT 28, 2005 Bottle. Amber with small lasting beige head and nice lace. Caramel, sweet, certainly hoppy, fruity ( passion fruit, peach, grape), piney, long bitter finish. Soft, creamy mouthfeel, full bodied. Not as radical as expected; rounded and balanced. Relatively easy drinking, though this is the sort of beer you REALLY have to be in the mood for, and not something I would want to drink on an "everyday" basis. jcwattsrugger (12524) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - SEP 30, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 12, 2011 22oz bomber –pours a light tan thick head. Color is orangey. Aroma is grapefruit, taste follows, grapefruit. Not complex, just a good beer.

Extreme hops in aroma, with some cirtus and malty touches. Taste is malty and a bit fruity, and extreme amounts of hops. QUESTor (5) - Rockledge, Florida, USA - SEP 27, 2005 does not count
Love this.. If you enjoy IPAs, add this to your must try list. Bold, but not overwhelming. Nice hoppy tingle, but married to some sweeter undertones. Should sell by the 6 pack :-) bitter (1136) - Henderson, Nevada, USA - SEP 27, 2005
on draft tap house bellvue, WA. this was an impressive big beer. probably shouldnt of been served in a pint glass or as cold as it was. none the less the experience was still good. as the beer warms the sweet malty alcohol ember grows. at first mostly you get a fresh cut hop flavor of orange grapefruit bitterness on the back of your tongue. pushes you into a haze of dragon proportions with the subliminal heat of alchol and vanilla nut that churns your stomach. too strong for my lady, but good sippn for me. daddy likes, alot.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2006 [22 oz.] Pours an orange/copper color, with a nice, creamy head. This is an excellent doubleIPA - great balance of bitterness and other background flavors (malt, toffee). I’d love to try this on tap- this is outstanding. adrian910ss (2595) - Doylestown, PA, USA - SEP 23, 2005
22 oz bomber. Pours a gold copperish color with a medium sized beige head. Smells of intense pine needles. Has that west coast ipa taste to it. Excellent !! Citrus, pine, floral hops, and a hint of vanilla best describe the taste. GuilTTy (2264) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - SEP 23, 2005
On tap at a funky little place in Boston’s Back Bay but I don’t remember the name. Deep amber pour supporting a thick white head with a ton of lacing. Huge hoppy aroma with citrus, vanilla, pine and some malt in the background. Flavors very much in line with the aroma with the hop profile cranked up another few notches. Very rich and almost chalky maouthfeel and a bracingly bitter finish. Overall, this is one of the most aggressive Imperial IPAs I’ve tasted and at 9+%, it carries a ton of firepower. aussie12 (14) - rochester, New York, USA - SEP 14, 2005
Great hop flavor, definitely not for the kolsch or cream ale lovers out there. I liked it at about 50 degrees, seemed to get the max aroma and flavor balance. Good stuff, not to mention the 9.1% weight, pow! Engelsmann (651) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2005
Bottled. Pours almost orange, with a big white head. Aroma is very hoppy, Notes of pine and grapefruit. Taste is sweet malty, and hoppy. Lovely hoppy bitter aftertaste.
