COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules’ aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Pours a beautiful honey color with half a finger head that dissipates quickly and leaves spotty lacing. Nose is not particularly strong, but has floral, piney and slight citrus scents. Taste is of some caramel and grapefruit up front, with a lot of bitter hops on the finish. Alcohol is well hidden. I am not getting the sweetness that is present with Dogfish 90 Minute, which I prefer to this Imperial IPA. Still, very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 12fl.oz (35.5cl.) @home poured into a shaker. Clear medium amber, tall frothy off-white head, good retention, heavy lacing; aroma pale malts, orange, tangerine; smooth taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruity, light caramel, pine resin; malty bittersweet aftertaste, earthy touch, fruity notes, warming alcohol, dry bitter end; full-bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation; excellent, a joy to drink but beware for the abv, a fine and sturdy IPA.

355ml bottle. Cloudy, darkest amber colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Piney, citrusy and minimally floral, hoppy aroma, hints of lemon, orange, a touch of chamomile, caramel malty background with an almond and toffee touch. Taste is sweet, caramel malty and bitter, citrusy and piney hoppy, hints of lemon, orange, floral overtones, some almond, a touch of toffee; full body, smooth, soft, silky palate, lingering bitter hoppy finish.

Bottiglia.

Pours dark bronze from the bottle. Aroma is a citrus, pine, and caramel mix. Taste is bittersweet up front, full of white bread and toffee, but turns rapidly bitter. Bitter to acrid at the finish. Despite the bitterness the strong malty backbone is never quite overwhelmed and the sweet hints of caramel remain as a consistent undertone. Body is rich and full. The alcohol stays hidden. A potent and bitter brew. While I’m generally not much of a hops head, the malts just manage to keep this one in balance for me.

Lecker!

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2018 What a masterpiece of IPA this is, these guys just went for broke on this one and it worked, my me! Perhaps the main reason it isn't my maximal score is because it lacks some personality in its final touch, but everything is perfect setting up the taste agenda. Deeply advised to any hophead.

Lekki cytrus, trochę nut chlebowych, tropików i kwiatowego aromatu. Jest naprawdę gęstę, sporo ciała. W smaku natarcie cytrusów i ostrej goryczki, dalej trochę słodyczy i karmelu.
