COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules’ aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Poured from bomber bottle. Thick off-white head. Clear copper color. Smells of citrus, pine, and a bit of alcohol. Sweet and not over hopped like so many these days.

Bottle @Bir&Fud Bottega (Rome). Ambrata spenta, leggermente torbida, schiuma bianca non molto persistente. Al naso ossidazione, metallico, malto, mela grattuggiata matura, note citriche. In bocca è maltata con amaro senza spunto. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione media. Ossidata.

Another overly malty IPA. Lacks all hop and citrus flavor. Slight booziness to this one. Had out of a bottle in myrtle beach ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Muted Horn, Berlin. Clear amber beer with durable white head. Aroma of resin, caramel, herbs, some tropical fruits. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter, of caramel, resin, herbs, with notes of nutes, crystallized fruits, tropical fruits. Resiny and herbal finish. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft to average carbonation. Overall: full of caramel, but nevertheless tasty DIPA.

Bottle from Flink Gegist, Delft. Aroma is resinous hops, lots of pine resin, malt, soft tropical fruits, grapefruit, citrus, orange, touch of caramel. Flavour is above moderate sweet with a very strong bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden, there’s only a hint of it. Body is medium. Loads of resinous hops and fruits in this classic boldly hopped and bitter IIPA.

AirForceHops (7538) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 6, 2017
10 oz. snifter Draft at Yard House, Fenway, Boston. Clear copper color, thin lasting head. Flavor and aroma is a complete match. Taste is backed by plenty of sweet caramel malts leading into floral notes with overly strong pine.

Medium to full bodied with a sticky texture over the tongue. Overly sticky... The alcohol presence is not hidden at all. Finishes with some warming. This is a sipper without question.

3.6
Zlotta (3501) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - AUG 6, 2017
0.355 l bottle from ’BierPost.com’, bottled in September 2016, eleven months old. Clear, very dark amber with a thin, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, malty, resiny and moderately fruity aroma of orange jam, pine, mango puree and candied apricot. Very sweet, malty, resiny and slightly fruity taste of candy sugar, orange jam, pine, candied apricot and hints of mango, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, resiny and a bit warming finish. Full body, thick and creamy, almost oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Heavy beer, very sweet but with a pleasantly bitter finish, probably not as fruity and hoppy as a fresh example.
