COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules’ aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

KajII (801) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - MAY 20, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2012 Bottle. The pour was a murky medium copper orange with a large (2-3 finger) rocky cream colored head that had decent retention, finally reducing to a thin layer of residue with some excellent sheeting of sticky lacing. The aroma was of a toasted grain malt, pine and floral hops and a mildly sweet yeast with notes of citrus (grapefruit / peel), toffee, caramel and a mild alcohol tinge. The taste was bitter sweet and a tad malty with a hint of toffee early on, with the taste becoming a bit hoppier and having a strong grapefruit presence and a mild citrus peel bitterness towards the end. The flavor lingered for a good while with the taste of citrus and hops settling nicely on the taste buds, meanwhile a mild alcohol warming sensation just added to the enjoyment of this tantalizing brew. Mouthfeel was almost medium in body with a dry oily texture and a good lively carbonation. Overall a DIPA with a well balanced blending of flavors that created a smooth sweet bitter taste, which made this a very enjoyable and drinkable brew.

12 oz. can. Hazy copper with a cream-colored head. Aroma and taste of caramel malt, citrus, pine, bread, floral notes. Moderately bitter finish. Good.

Nice amber colour with a thick white head. Light malty aroma and some slight notes of hops. Looking at the ABV I expected something quite sweet. On the contrary this is a very hoppy DIPA and the bitterness is strong expecially in the long lasting finish. Faithful to its name.

bottle. Amber with one finger head. Solid malt body, light caramel and quite a bit of nutty, bready notes. Solid hops, substantial bitterness. Old school style, but very well executed.

W aromacie karmel, slodowe. Chmiel gdzies w tle. Barwa bursztynowa, piana drobna, bardzo ladna. W smaku slodkie, karmelowe, kontruje to goryczka na srednim do wysokiego poziomie. Alkohol bardzo fajnie ukryty. Jest tez gejpfruitowe w smaku. Troche brakuje chmielu.

Tap. More on a resiny, coniferous side that any citrus. Thick, chewy. Delicious bitterness. Heavy malt base. Semi-sweet, but all the bitterness and warning booze hide it to the background. Complex brew, great.

Beautiful. Tinted marmalade, uniform lace on the ivory colored head. 10/10 on nose...sweet toast, pine, subdued citrus, honey, wood. Perfect. So easy to drink for the complexity, well balanced, cereal, toast, grapefruit, a creamy texture. Outstanding!

Poured out of a CAN. Amber brew with decent head. Smells and tastes fairly well balanced with a bit of citrus and floral thing happening with the hops. POW! Thought this to be the everyday offering of an IPA but didn't read the CAN too well. This is a "double" IPA at a respectful 10% APV. CAN or no CAN this is a very chuggable brew that can literally mess a person up. It tastes great and is a brew that I hope to stock up on next trip into town. Also hope to find it in bottles next time but most likely the lame distributors in my area will only do cans..

garroch (76) - New York, USA - SEP 26, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2017 On tap at great divide. Pours deep amber with thin head and a bit of lacing. Malt forward... Nose is bready with hints of caramel. Taste is mildly bitter, sort of nutty, with a sweet honey finish. Medium to heavy body, liquor-like finish. Different from the double IPAs I'm used to on the east coast. Really enjoyable.
