COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English-style Old Ale. Hibernation Ale is Colorado’s original strong ale -- it has been Great Divide’s winter seasonal each year since 1995. Hibernation’s massive flavors are so intense that it requires over three months of aging each year. This lengthy aging process gives Hibernation its revered malty richness, complex hop profile and hearty warming character, which is perfect right out of the bottle or cellared for longer periods of time.

8.1% ABV through 2008
8.7% ABV in 2009

Medium full body, dry cocoa powder on the palate, dry earthy minerallic, crystal/caramel malt - a bit sugary, bisquit malt, good range of earthy and herbal hop notes.

Clear dark ruby and brown with neat beige head. Neat char with coffee, chocolate, herbs. Coffee, chocolate, bitterness of old coffee, nuts, just a hint of alcohol. Slick slightly watery palate with medium body. Long herbal and bitter finish. Winter is almost gone and this is to it’s memory.

Aroma of caramel and toffee, toasted malts, hints of chocolate. Taste is lightly sweet at first, then a nice bitterness follows, with toasted malts, caramel and toffee, bitter chocolate. Medium body, good carbonation. Pretty good.

ALIBALI (2212) - Kiel, GERMANY - MAR 26, 2017
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2017 The Breadmaster and fescher Kaffeefeger zwischen Bohne und Satz 😉. 355ml CAN von BIERVANA München.
