Crack open Yeti Imperial Stouts sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yetis already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you cant tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

ACHops' rating

4.4
ACHops (1566) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Growler from Super Deli Mart, poured into a goblet. Pours viscous pitch black with a dark dirt brown head with a slight reddish tint and of medium thickness. Aroma is dark chocolate, charred malt, old oaky wood and a hint of port-like booze. Taste is dark roasty malts, still harsh though tempered a bit by the oak, dark chocolate. A note of vanilla sweetness on the finish. Lingers bitter afterward. Thick, coating mouthfeel. The oak is not nearly as prominent as the Belgian yeast, chocolate, or espresso versions respectively - it allows the natural flavors of Yeti to really shine. Pretty tough without them right beside each other, but Id rank this just slightly ahead of the espresso, which was just ahead of the chocolate. Hard to go wrong either way, amazing that this beer can take on so many mods so well.

Dense bodied and dark foam. Strong roast flavor and persistent after taste. Gets better as it warms up in the glass.

Bottle sharing during Hevelka. Probably infected bottle because tasted like shit mostly... Lot of expectations and big disappointment

DonGregorio (373) - POLAND - JUN 4, 2017
Bottle shared at tasting. Black beer with rocky brown head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, coffee, wood, some alcohol with strange herbal or mint (!) note. Taste is medium sweet and bitter, with lots of coffee, dark chocolate, wood and again some herbs / mint. Woody, burnt coffee finish. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft to average carbonation. Not bad, but very strange, worse than regular Yeti.

Pours jet black with tan head. Scent is raisins, malts, chocolate, molasses, and oak. Taste roasted malts, prunes, vanilla, and coffee. Big and boozy. A good imperial stout. Not amazing to me.

Pours black, slight crimson in the edges, darn tan head, uniform cascading lace. Nose is a remarkable blend of vanilla, wood, coffee, fudge, even cinnamon. Full body, chocolate appears now with the vanilla, coffee bean, fresh roast coffee, sweet lactose, molasses. Excellent!

Pours out a deep black with slight lacing brown head. The aroma is coffee and oak. The taste is complex with a nice coffee taste well balanced with hops and a good bitterness in the finish.

bergstaden (2925) - Rros, NORWAY - APR 28, 2017
Black with dark brown head - Dark malt with fruity tones and some hints of barrel in the aroma - Dark malt body with some fruity tones and some wood, vanilla and cooffee flavours, with some hints of alcohol with a bitter end - The dark fruity malt and hop with a lasting bitterness with some coffee and woody notes goes into the finish - This was real good
