Crack open Yeti Imperial Stouts sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yetis already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you cant tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

raisins, malts, sweet apricots, chocolatey-roastey, very wet oak...lots of smokey oak. Head at first seems like its going to be small, but retains remarkably, small-to-medium celled cocoa-colored head. Is this my favorite beer ever? Lots of malty smoothness up front, and the taste of raisins, dates, and sweet apricots wash over your tongue once its made its way to the back... It finishes with a hoppy-bitterness, definitely more floral-bitter than citrus. Aged smokey oak aroma/taste keep coming back.

Pours out a deep black with slight lacing brown head. The aroma is coffee and oak. The taste is complex with a nice coffee taste well balanced with hops and a good bitterness in the finish.

Bottle 650ml. Black with small brown head. Chocolate and small hint of sweet vanilla in aroma. There is also bitter chocolate in taste with a little bit wooden finish and small note of alocohol. Beer is smooth even though medium bitterness, wooden and small sweetness in aftertaste.

9.5%ABV. Imperial stout. Poured out black and oily. 40SRM. Nose has plums and sweet overripe stone fruit. Some medicinal heft to it, liniment and Chinese medicine. Nose also has nice barley bread aroma. Mouthfeel is syrupy and well balanced with carbonation. Palate is deeply roasted malt with burnt grain and burnt toast. Charcoal, espresso roast, burnt twigs, charred wood, oak, burnt acorns, slightly. Very brief stone fruit body with sweet and light fruitiness. Finish is bitter, alcoholic and lingering. Wood in the final bit of the palate. Overall a very endearing imperial stout despite the very rough edges. Goes on Favorites List!

Black pour, solid mocha head. Nose is chocolate, carmel and oak. Bittersweet. Middle is fudge, blackened malt, velvety caramel, currants, and oak. Finish brings a woody hop bitterness into the mix to bring balance. Wow.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2017 Bottle thanks to MisoW. Slightly vegetal grassy character impairing both aroma and flavour. Other than that there is lots of malty complexity, chocolate, toffee, roast, coffee. It is very good, but the vegetal off note removes it dimensions from where it could be otherwise.
