Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark. The addition of rolled oats softens Yetis notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

Aroma of chocolate and raisins. Jet black with brown sugar colored head. Tastes of more chocolate, roasted coffee beans, raisins. The star of this beer is the palate, compliments of the oatmeal. Thick, oily, syrupy. This is awesome.

Thick and heavy. It has that nice oily or velvety mouthfeel that indicates a properly executed Imperial stout. The Russians would be proud. There is a subtle-- not overwrought-- lip-smacking sweetness that accompanies each sip, and slowly fades away into taste-blindness as you get to the bottom of the bomber. I think this would be a stunning oater to sit in the cellar. I need to get some more.

Bottle picked up at Smokes n Suds in Lewiston, enjoyed this some time back in January. Not a lot of notes by hand on this one, Ive had Yeti and the variants several times now and its always a favorite. Beautiful appearance is dark dark brown, nearly black with a thick brown head. Aroma is thick and rich with roast, cocoa, and an underlying sweetness. Silky smooth and moderately dense, big flavors of roast, dark chocolate, and oats. A little bit sweet mixed in there, but predominately roast and bittersweet chocolate. Finishes rich and smooth. Worthy of a 4+ rating which is sort of standard for me with the Yeti clan.

Bouteille la maison. Liquide bien noir lallure lgre.

From a 650ml brown bottle. Dark brown with almost no head. Nose - big roast, chocolate malt. Taste - oat, chocolate, fruit touches, caramel and roasted notes. Finishes bitter. Nice mouthfeel. An excellent version of Yeti. Great beer to end the night with.

Pours an inky black color with a medium thick tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, rich chocolate, espresso, earthy, dark fruits, raisins and some resiny hop notes. The flavor is rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, some sweetness from the oatmeal, raisins, anise, with resinous hops to add bitterness. The finish is softer and less dry than the base, roasted with enough bitterness to make things interesting. Full bodied and very drinkable. A pretty solid treatment of the base.
