COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark.  The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character.  Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

Flaska. Svart med ett beigt skum. Dofter och smaker av riktigt mörk choklad, rostad malt, torkad frukt och nyanser av kallt kaffe. I smaken dessutom lakrits. Fyllig kropp, alkoholen gömmer sig väl. Oljig munkänsla.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some black chocolate notes with subtle dry raisins notes is quite enticing. Taste is a great mix of roasted malt with rich black chocolates notes with the oat malt bringing some smooth notes with dry raisins notes adding another layer of complexity. Body is full with good carbonation with no apparent alcohol notes. Very well brewed imperial stout with the dry raisin notes adding interesting flavours.

0,355l bottle at Harry’s Jyväskylä. Pours black color with minimal head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits, berries, chocolate, caramel, coffee, sugar. Softened by oatmeal, quite mellow and balanced taste. I like the original and barrel aged one as well, compared to those it is a bit less roasted and full than those, but not in a bad way, as softened version works nicely as well. Roasted and sweet aftertaste, ending in roasted malts. Alcohol doesn’t get through much at all.

Nocturne (2238) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2017
Tap at the brewpub. As ‘Oatmeal Raisin Yeti’. Black with light brown cap. Notes of chocolate, spices and red fruits. Chewy taste which turns dry at the finish. A bit disappointing actually. Doesn’t taste too much like the name may suggest.

Bottle. 9.5%. Best before 01.08.1? (probably 2019). Pours an oily black, with a creamy, tan head. Great lacing. Smooth, roasted aroma, with hints of ash, chocolate, bread and dark fruits. Alcohol note, a bit boozy, as it warms. Flavour is sweetish and roasted, with a dark fruit hint. Bitter finish, a bit dry. Lingering mild alcohol burn, followed by a light liquorice note/bitterness, an ashy hint and a light grassy/green apple note. Soft palate. Overall quite good; not very complex, but well-balanced and -made. 13.12.17.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2017 Bottle sampled in a glass, a dark brown / black into the glass, it had a light tan and tan cover of bubbles, there was nice spots and partial rings of lacing on the glass, this impy had lots of dark malt aromas, roasted malt, chocolate, raisin and fig dark fruit, caramel, faint coffee, a little roasted malt bitterness, malt sweetness with brown sugar and a little molasses, the flavors were similar to the nose, roasted malt, chocolate, a touch of dark cocoa, dark fruit, a little caramel, faint earth and citrus hops, malt sweetness and molasses, some hop bitterness with some roasted malt bitterness, the mouth feel was felt to be towards the full side, there was soft to average carbonation, it was creamy on the lips, this beer had a nice aromas and flavors, this drink had a nice mouth feel for a 9.5% alc. imperial stout, it felt bigger than a 9.5% alc. imperial stout, another great beer from Great Divide. the oatmeal appeared to make this beer a little smoother in the flavor, the raisin was evident, a very nice impy for drinking on a cold Winter day.

Piney hops at the front, and lots of dark, roasty flavors. Coffee is easily discernable. Dry for an imperial stout, not exactly what I was expecting. Very good.

Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 29, 2017
Bottle, CanBIF. 2015 bottling date. Dark brown. Thin, bubbly head. Rich, fruity, oaty? Well definitely a deep fruity aroma with minerally chocolate notes. Rich and thick. Quite bitter - leafy hops and bitter chocolate, and it hasn’t faded. Rich fruity depths - orchard fruits and raisins alike. Tobacco. Delicious...malt, fruit, oats, hop, chocolate...really good. Loving this one.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2017 Svart och relativt tjock konsistens. Mörkbrunt tjockt skum. Doftar lätt av rostade toner. Smak av kaffe och choklad, len och fyllig konsistens. Jävligt god!

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2017 27-NOV-2017, bottle @home, from Systembolaget, brought by Erik, thx. :-) Black with a lasting, tan head. Roast, coffee. Quite creamy and soft overall. But not a big sweet monster. Actually not very sweet. Quite some hops. Nice and easy drinking.
