COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark. The addition of rolled oats softens Yetis notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

It is a well blend aroma of oatmeal, raisins, and roasted malts. It is colored black with a rich chocolate brown head that slowly dissipates. A very rich taste with some bitterness that blends the oatmeal and the malts well, with a hint of the raisins. Definitely one of my favorites.

From a 650ml brown bottle. Dark brown with almost no head. Nose - big roast, chocolate malt. Taste - oat, chocolate, fruit touches, caramel and roasted notes. Finishes bitter. Nice mouthfeel. An excellent version of Yeti. Great beer to end the night with.

Pours an inky black color with a medium thick tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, rich chocolate, espresso, earthy, dark fruits, raisins and some resiny hop notes. The flavor is rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, some sweetness from the oatmeal, raisins, anise, with resinous hops to add bitterness. The finish is softer and less dry than the base, roasted with enough bitterness to make things interesting. Full bodied and very drinkable. A pretty solid treatment of the base.

Bottle 355ml (Beer Hunters). Dark opaque color, small beige head. Aroma has vanilla, toasted chocolaty malts. Medium-bodied. Roasted malty with typical oaty soft palate. Coffee beans, dark chocolate, some warming alcohol. Another good Yeti.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served showing a black/brown hue, with a fingers width of brownish tan head froth, and spots & patches of foamy lacing. The nose was roasted & chocolate, with combined notes of malt & wood that gave off a slight freezer burn scent, a touch of raisin sweetness, and a hint of soy. Full bodied, with soft but fair carbonation for the occasion, the taste was somewhat similar notes, retaining the pleasant maltiness & favorable raisin sweetness, but losing the freezer burn & soy. Included was a lingering, earthy bitterness with roasted astringency, complemented by finishing dryness, and mellow, alcohol warmth. Exceptionally tasty!

Pours dark brown with tan foam. Surprisingly mild aroma for such a big beer, with chocolate and vanilla notes. Great bittersweet flavor--chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit. roast coffee bitterness and a LOT of alcohol in the finish. This is a great special occasion beer.
