Bottled. Thanks a lot Jørgen for sharing this on your 40th birthday. A murky amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, caramel, wood, and whiskey. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, caramel, whiskey, and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. VIII (11.8 %). Very deep amber colour, small off white head. Aroma is sweet toffee, some raisins, mild plum pudding, some slight whisky like sweet notes along with vanilla. Flavour is very much the same in a nice balance, but also the alcohol gives it a slight sting.
Bottled (2012 vintage -11.8%) at PBF. Clear mahogany colour, minimal head. Caramel mingle with vanilla and oak up front. Sweet, full bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Plenty pof bourbon, but it goes very well with the caramelly malt. Driven by sweet malt and oaky bourbon. Warming finish where the bitterness is balanced by all the malt.
