COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Orabelle is brewed with barley, wheat, and rye. This Belgian-style tripel is a golden beauty. Its two yeast strains, orange peel, and dash of corriander impart suprising complexity and richness to this delicate ale. Dont let ORABELLEs nature fool you, this is one flavorful brew. Watch out, shes a charmer- one sip and youll be in love.

Poured from the bottle in a pint glass. This is just what you hope for out of a tripel. Aroma is sweet citrus and the appearance is that of an unfiltered wheat beer; light color and very opaque. Slightly boozy finish, but considering its 8.3% alcohol content it?s actually pretty faint. Great beer.

Spectacular beer. Better than most Tripels in my opinion. The nose is wheaty with slight hints of citrus. The front taste is wheat filled with a hint of sugar. The finish has a strong presence of the sugar used to brew this style.

12oz bottle. Fairly clear gold with an average fizzy-foamy white somewhat diminishing head, nice tiny bubbling action. Tangy aroma - alcohol, fresh-cut grass, low-level spice, citrus oil and yes, coriander - a little simple and grassier than I would expect, but a nice bonus is that its not massively sweet-smelling. Taste follows - basically its a light Belgian IPA, quite grassy and fairly well balanced if a tad strong alcohol presence. Average slightly oily mouthfell, sharply but not overly carbonated, a dry grassy finish where the coriander really emerges. I quite liked it - I dunno about style, but I liked it.

Pours a light golden with a very light haze and boozy head. Aromas sugary caramel, slight banana ester, grass and wheat-like/bread. Flavors sugary sweet caramel, grass, slight herbal hops, slight banana (from yeast). Medium to high sweetness, medium dry finish, light bitterness and a slight spicy aftertaste.

ROGUE (2208) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - OCT 6, 2013
12oz bottle. Pours a light, slightly hazy lemon gold color with a thin white filmy head. Smells of coriander, lemon zest, grassy malts, and semi-sweet citrus. Flavor of light grassy malts, hints of wheat, and tart and sweet citrus fruitiness. A very mild hop bite comes through in the aftertaste. Body is on the full side with light fizzy carbonation.

Hazy, yellow pour with a bright white head. The aroma has orange rind and some light, peppery spice. It has a light body with sticky texture and average carbonation. The taste is sweet with just a hint of alcohol.

12oz bottle pours with a clear watery gold body that supports a bright white head of foam. The aroma offers up malts, biscuit malts, spicy Belgian yeast and a touch of lime. The taste begins with Belgian spicy yeast flowing into sweet sugary malts as well as pears, honey covered apple wedges and figs. Pretty nice.

On tap at Bangers & Lace. A bit spicy and bready for a tripel. Bright flavor. A little bit acidic and carbonated on the finish. Not bad but not really a standout in this genre, even by American standards.

Bottle:   Pale golden, slight haze, thin to moderate sudsy white head, little lacing.   Soft caraway, orange peel, and corriander on the nose.   Almost a candyish sweetness up front, strong pale maltiness, some honey, minor corriander spices, with some sage perhaps?   Not as mealy or heavy as many other American examples, but sure has a strong sweet malty breadiness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Spicy finish, strong honeydew melon, bready, malty, warming.   Not as floral as others, or spritzy, but at least its a little different.   Pale American Abbey Tripel with some Witbier aspects mixed in.   Decent.
