Rumble IPA is an American IPA with subtle nuance. Brewed with heavy-handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, this beer is gently aged on French and American oak resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and undertones of pine and citrus.

Mellow citrus and pine aroma. Hazy copper body with sediment floating around. Topped with a thin skim coat off-white head. Bold bitter bite with a citrusy malt taste. Has a little zest but finishes on the cleaner side. It has a style that is neither west coast, east coast or English IPA for that matter. In other words it has a more distinct taste than most in this category.

Bottle. This is a nice heavy IPA with a slightly softer edge which is a result of the wood aging i assume.

Pours deep orange with a small white head. Smells piney with hints of caramel and wood. Taste is bitter, vanilla, oaky, hints of sweetness. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Great Divide Rumble finishes with a soft, lingering oaky smoothness.

Pours a dark, cloudy, unfiltered amber orange color. It has little white flakes of something floating around. Creamy white thick head with insane lacing. Wow! Staring at the bottom of the glass, it looks like dandruff, but nevermind that.

I took a sniff when I opened the bottle and it was strong vanilla from the get go. But from the glass, I smell hops. Not quite as strongly as most IPAs, but very strong. Pine, orange zest. But the oak, it’s there. It’s earthy citrus and earthy woody too. Not so much vanilla from the glass.

Taste is hop forward. Not so much malt, not so much sweet. The vanilla comes through at the end, and a little more sweetness would help bring out the vanilla more. But still, it’s quite good to taste. I taste the orange zest, but not so much caramel. The earthy oak makes it interesting.

Mouthfeel is a little watery for such a high abv beer. It’s dry. But for an IPA it’s extremely drinkable. It’s very clean, and only slightly bitter finish.

Overall, this is a really good IPA. It’s different, and it’s tasty. My glass is almost empty and there’s all kinds of lacing on the glass. I gave it a swirl and it conjured up another round of huge thick head. It’s not as bitter as most IPAs, but if it were just a touch sweeter, we’re talking the perfect IPA here.

Bottle. Light wood, orange malt, and grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange malt, oak, and moderately bitter herbal grapefruit peel flavor. Nice body. Tasty.

355 ml bottle. Enjoyed at Los Angeles, CA. Pours a hazy amber orange colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of sweet toffee, wood, mild biscuit maltiness and weed. Flavour of fresh floral bitterness, wood, weed, some citrus and mild pineapple mango fruitiness. Medium bodied. Interesting.

Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma of oak, grassy hops, sweet caramel, toffee, citrus and vanilla. Taste is sweetish, caramely and citrusy with some oak, toffee, grass and pine. Finish is sweet, oaky and grassy. A bit strange.
