Light amber-copper color with excellent off-white head. Hoppy with nice woody tones; moderate notes from the French and slightly more agressive from the American?? Hops are citrus-like (grapefruit) up front and a bit earthy in the finish. Aroma is balanced hop, malt, and oak. A nice, complex twist on an IPA. cstuartj (1020) - Washington, USA - JUL 26, 2011
Very dark almost like a red ale. Nice hoppy nose. Very clean taste, not very hoppy but nice and crisp. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - JUL 24, 2011
Sampled in a 12oz bottle. Pours with a big white head on it. Drinks really smooth. The color is brownish orange and crystal clear. A really nice brew. Great on the tongue. Redpointed (69) - Colorado, USA - JUL 24, 2011
Nice amber, pleasant head. Aroma is hoppy, more like a standard IPA. The oak doesn’t come through too much in the aroma, but seems to round out the hops during the finish. Not at all confused, this goes together really well. Excellent. RickTStiles (826) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 24, 2011
pours clear amber with a thin white head and some lacing. aroma is grapefruit, pine, vanilla and sugar. Taste is juicy citrus initially but becomes quite dry. the wood is subtle but apparent. caramel and even toffee are present. finish is dry and has a slight burn. a delightfully complex beer.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2012 Clear amber with a small foamy off-white head. Decent lacing. Aroma of vanilla, mild pine and citrus hops, caramel, nuts and wood. The taste is only mildly bitter, but is a nice balance of mildly sweet malt and not so bitter hops, with a nice woodiness in the background. It finishes slightly bitter. Medium bodied, softly carbonated, smooth. Good beer. Atom (2556) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 23, 2011
On tap at brewery, pours amber/orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of funky citrus and resiny pine. Taste is full bodied vanilla and caramel riding nicely on top of a bitter resinous pine. Well rounded with the oak and IPA characteristics, nice! verymerrymonk (413) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 23, 2011
Pours a clear copper body with a big, rocky beige head. Perfume and piney hops with a strong, bready, caramel backbone. Nicely balanced. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 23, 2011
Pours hazy orange-amber with white head, aroma has nice notes of pine, grass, some earth, oak, some caramel as well. Taste is a nice balance of bitter pine and grass, some sweet caramel and vanilla, dried out by the oak and finishing nice and bitter. Good stuff! screigh (749) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 22, 2011
Pours a clear copper color. This off white head that lasts with some nice lacing. Aroma is smokey, wooden and dusty. Creamy mouthfeel. Subdued bitterness and hop flavor. Mild bitterness. Well balanced. More body than most IPAs I have had.
