4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into a "satan" beer glass. Transparent amber color with 1/2 inch of head.
Smell: Slight banana, vanilla, floral hops and oak. Very pleasant.
Taste: Like a normal IPA, except mellower. Moderate bitterness.
Palate: Crisp and ends dry.
Very good. IPA drinkers will enjoy this mellower version. You can probably enjoy more without your taste buds getting burned out like they do with normal IPAs. Those who usually avoid IPAs because of the bitterness should try this version out.
355ml bottle at Beer Station, Xiamen on 25/11/15. Pours hazy golden brown. Aroma of vanilla with a hint of whisky. Grapefruit taste. Bittersweet finish. Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 13, 2017
On tap @ Mudville 9. This is a soft amber colored one, only a little blurr and a tall lasting dense lacing off-white head on the top. Like the aroma. It’s mild yet present. The whole place I’m sitting in smells like barbecue sauce and that kinda effects the while nosing experience on this one quite a bit, but I do get hints of citrus and soft vanilla in between all the sweetness from the BBQ sauce. The taste however is easier. There’s a fair amount of raw apply sweetness/sourness. Quite unlike your average IPA this. It’s nice and oily in the mouth while it’s about average on the bubbles. A hint of wood acidity blended with bitter piney hops. Slightly astringent in a mild way also. Actually quite good tasting this. 10.06.2015 Travlr (25236) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 29, 2016

Pours a hazy copper-golden with an antique white head. Pungent aroma. Caramel malt, citrus, oak, and oaky vanilla. Soft, nearly cottony mouthfeel. A lot of vanilla flavor got picked up from the oak. Caramel malt comes through prominently as well and sweetens the beer to balance the bitter and citrus contribution of the hop profile. tysongillmore (362) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2015
I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.

Mellow citrus and pine aroma. Hazy copper body with sediment floating around. Topped with a thin skim coat off-white head. Bold bitter bite with a citrusy malt taste. Has a little zest but finishes on the cleaner side. It has a style that is neither west coast, east coast or English IPA for that matter. In other words it has a more distinct taste than most in this category.
