COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smoked Baltic Porter is the sultry sister of a storied style. Brewed with traditional German malts and hops, this dark lager gets its special twist from a hefty addition of Bamberg smoked malt. This smoldering, medium-bodied lager is sure to please.

First Batch: 6.2% ABV

Last brewed in 2011, discontinued in 2012.

[6167-20140131] Bottle. Kitty litter and sawdust and roasted breadcrumbs aroma. Black cola body with a quick foamy tan head. Roasted wood grain and toasted coffee flavour. Full body. Interesting. (6/3/7/3/14) 3.3

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black, nose is light chocolate, too fizzy, light smoky taste.

"this one followed the Schlenkera line-up, which perhaps was not fair, but whatrya gonna do? I really dig the common malt character of many of GDs maltier beers. it stands out in this beer, which acheived the roasted malty goodness i’ve some to expect really well. notes of chocolate and a hint of smoke, especially relatively speaking. nice dry finish. where it fell short was the baltic part. didn’t get that at all, especially at 6.2%. oh well, a pretty good beer that i was hoping would be great."

Bottle. July 11, 2011. Pours a deep black color with an ok tan head. Aroma is of smokey malt with some cocoa lingering. Dark chocolate taste with a nice, smoked malt finish. For being 3 years old, this porter aged very well. Milky texture as well.

Splitenz (370) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 12, 2014
I love this beer.mits from Colorado, it tastes like coffee, chocolate, burning peet, pilsner malts and portor on top of it all. I can find no foults with it.

ThirstyBird (2967) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2014
Pours a pure opaque black/brown with a beige head. The smell is roasted malt, smoke and fruit. The taste is rosy, deep fruit, licorice ends a bit dry and smokey. Overly carbonated a bit rough.

Inbreak (6318) - Loddefjord, NORWAY - MAR 20, 2014
19.03.2014, 0,65l bottle sampled @ BBGTC tasting:
Big slightly fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, dark malts, sour-ish smoked ham, grass, caramel, paper, broth, licorice. Taste is slightly sour-ish, dark malts, grass, sour dark fruits, caramel, weeds, leather, hints of licorice and smoked ham. Little bitterness, high carbonation. Fair enough, probably far away from it’s best since it’s overcarbonated.

ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2014
Pours dark brown with a large and fluffy tan head. Aroma is smoke and dried meat. Also hints of wood, tar, liquorice and loads of malts. Taste is smokey, moderatetly sour and a lightly sweet finish. Very high levels of carbonation makes for a fizzy palate. Semi dry finish.
