12 oz. Bottle. Drank 5/11/06. Nice and clear. Deep orange copper with a nice ~1" creamy off-white head. Falls to a thick layer of foam. Laces nicely. Aroma - pretty strong piney, citrusy, resiny, florally hops and a pretty good amt. of sweet malts. Pine dominates. Flavor - Really nicely balanced IPA. Smooth, sweet malts in the front and a good amt. of bitterness in the finish. Some nice pney, florally hop flavor after the swallow. Enough, but not a huge level of bitterness like some other IPA’s. Palate - Nice, smooth medium body. Carb. is on the lower end compared to other IPA’s, but that adds to the smoothness and doesn’t take anything away. Overall a very good, very easily drinkable IPA. I’ve really liked everything I’ve had from GD and this one is right there too. Quality stuff.

SoLan (1550) - Florida, USA - MAY 22, 2006
Hazy amber/brown/copper. Huge, dense, khaki top. Nice lacing. Aroma of pine, cereal, resin, toffee. Flavor adds citrus and sweet malt support. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet. Medium, balanced body. Solid IPA.

pours out of the bottle a beautiful hazed METALLIC tangerine hue with a good size yellow, egg-shell white cappucino foam head that dissipates to a fully covered w/ lace rim and swampy surface. smells fresh of florals and citrus, grapefruit and honey. the flavor is initially congenially bitter. tastes of lemon, grapefruit, cloves(?), honey, marmalade. palate is crisp, kind of fizzy on the tongue. finish is slightly sour. high carbonation throughout. I like it because its subtle, fresh and citrusy and lightly hoppy and bitter throughout. I’m not a big IPA person but I really like this one.

zebracakes (1339) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 20, 2006
Pours clear golden caramel. Citrus/floral aroma, white head. Pretty refreshing, a good amount of hops--I like it! I’d say that this is a good IPA.

this is the maverick 2003 Saw this at a neighborhood beer store that I usually do not go to. poured a nice copper amber with a big fluffly head that left alot of lacing. aroma grassy, pine, malt, and some sourness, citrus. flavor the first thing that comes out is the caramel and honey, citrus nice dryness and bitterness would have liked to have this fresh. I think I will get a couple more bottle of this

sfontain (851) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 17, 2006
Gorgeous, dark orange-red, with a large, eggshell head that won’t go away; a lot of lacing. Aroma of pine, hops, flowers, and a touch of caramel and vanilla. Flavor doesn’t show the 6.8% alcohol in the least; tons of the piney hops with a little citrus, and not much else. Full-bodied and frothy. A very clean, very pronounced IPA. Unfortunately, I’m still not a huge fan.

BeerHawk (1810) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - MAY 14, 2006
Bottled March week 3. Poured a cooper color with a white head that slowly settled and produced light lacing. The head was slightly rejuvenated with a twirl of the glass. Big aroma of pine with a hop/malt mix in the background. The flavor was mainly citrus with some pine and malts. Light to medium body. Comfortable bitterness throughout. A very nice IPA.

Drinking was smooth, nice and hoppy. Its like drinking, and in mid-drink, getting semi-karate chopped in the throat. then being allowed to finish your beer. its good. you like hops = you like this beer

JugOPunch (83) - Nashua, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 9, 2006
12oz bottle: Pours an orange brown. Aroma is slightly hoppy but mostly malt sweetness. Decent body with a crisp hop bite that is overpowered by the malt especially towards the end. Smooth mouth feel. This was good but nothing special. A bit overrated.

3.7
DrunkenWeasel (224) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 9, 2006
Pours medium amber with a medium white head. Smells fairly hoppy with floral and pine notes most prominent. Taste is standard ipa with a nice crisp hop kick and subtle caramel undertones. Aftertaste is a short lived hop taste tappering off with a slightly fizzy feeling.
