Great Divide brews Titan IPA for hop disciples -- independent beer drinkers seeking out robust, flavorful beers characterized by their abundance of hops, flavor, aroma and bitterness. As a big aggressively-hopped India Pale Ale, Titan IPA fills this bill -- beginning with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishing with a rich, malty sweetness that is carefully balanced with crisp hop bitterness. 65 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Dark clear glowing amber. Great aroma. Thick head. Piney hops build to a grapfruit rind finish. Great hops punch in the mouth. Hops linger forever. Extremely dry. Tongue puckers lto the bitter dry finish ike with a dry Souvignon Blanc. Very drinkable. Almost no maltiness. I need a good balance and the palate was too dry without the malt finish but a fantastic example of superhopping. Hop hop hop.

Poured a hazy orange with small off-white head. Aroma was a combination of malty and hoppy. This was one of the best IPAs I have ever had.

12 oz bottle. Pours a murky coppery orange color with a medium sized, off-white head. Smells fruity, earthy, and hoppy. The beginning taste almost has a grapefruit taste, with a super hoppy mid and a smokey, malty finish. Average body and mouthfeel. Honestly this beer has many good elements but personally the taste is somewhat offensive. Im probably not suited for IPAs, and I really cant stand grapefruit juice, which is what this beer mostly tastes like to me.

Beautiful amber colour with a nice white head. Aroma with lots of grape fruits and the citric hops also dominate the flavour. Long dry end. All in all a very fine American IPA.

Deep orange pour with beautiful lacing and nice bubbles. Piney/grass aroma and flavor, with a nice malt backbone and balance. Maltiness actually attacks towards the middle with breadiness and grain settling into a nice resinous, bitter finish.

I almost forgot I tried this one. It was a highlight on Saturday. The description says it all. Thanks Sam for hooking it up.

The bottle poured a slightly hazy amber beverage with an average off-white head that was mostly diminishing and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was hop-huge. The aroma was like being in a pine forest with cotton candy and flowers mixed in for good measure. The body was quite full with average carbonation and a crisp, dry texture. The flavor starts off pleasantly sweet. In the middle it begins to turn toward the bitter side but never gets obnoxious. The finish is long, crisp and dry.

Fruity hops aroma with orange peel and grapefruit rind. Sweet brown sugar, pine resin. Very aromatic and addictive to sniff. Amber orange liquid with a bit of haze. This off-white lacing head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Bit of carbonic burn. Starts with medium hop acidity, nice sweet malt. Bit of caramel and biscuit. It just sweet enough to trounce the extremely fresh floral hops and subsequent bitterness. Ozone and resin belches result. Finish is hugely bitter, with nice hops oil. Tongue is left dry and bitterly coated.

Pours a deep copper into a shaker. Big, fluffy head that leaves thick lacing. Damp pine and grapefruit notes. Creamy with up front roasted nuts which quickly turns to a lingering grapefruit hop finish.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2009 Appearance: Pours a nicely carbonated dark amber with a moderate offwhite head and moderate lacing. Aroma: Crisp slightly citrusy hoppy aroma, reminds me of Stone IPA in a good way. Flavor profile: Big initial crisp dry hop punch with a little citrus, carmel and a hint of hearty malts to give it a nice character, finishes hoppy, bitter and clean. No alcohol burn but its 6.8% so it warms you up a bit. Flavor profile: Smooth, light but weighty, quenching and refreshing. Overall: This is like the brother from another mother to the Stone IPA.
