At Avery Strong Ale Fest 2013--deep black with a khaki head. Wonderous aroma of deep dark chocolate, boozy caramel, oak, and light whiskey. Flavor is equally beautiful with loads of dark chocolate sweetness, oaked whiskey without much burn, caramel, roastiness, and pure happiness. Ratman197 (15220) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 3, 2013
On tap at Avery Strong Ale Fest poured a clear dark reddish brown nearly black with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of whiskey, dark chocolate, oak, vanilla and carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of whiskey, milk chocolate, roastiness and vanilla with a smooth lingering milk chocolate finish. cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Fest 2013. Pours a thick black appearance with a dark brown head. Rich dark chocolate, mild caramel, toffee, mild whiskey aroma. The whiskey is present in the flavor but fairly subdued. Mild caramel, a bit woody, big chocolatey flavor. Probably my favorite of the festival. wchesser (2121) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 2, 2013
At Boulder Strong Ale. Looks like a Yeti...thick and viscous and dark. Not as sweet as the Stranahan’s BA Yeti and no chili finish/burn like regular chocolate Yeti. A vegetal greeness to the nose and flavor but soft. Dark bitter chocolate and bourbon. Just awesome...top 5 for sure from the fest.
