Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti’s hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Brought this baby back from my few month stay in Denver....had a bunch of these out there and now its time to review Appearance: pours out ink black tar in color wiht a slight bloody amber tinge at the rims edge....a beautiful color for a hea....dark maroon in color...1/4 inch head...was hoping for a bit more in size and better retention though... Smell: oh yea...this is one potent fatherfucker here....dark roasted/singed chocolate coffee purree with bitter sweet hershdeys chocolate to follow it up....spicy malt phenols are takin over the nasal passageway.... Taste: very similar to the smells discription...really smooth rich and bittersweet chocolate upfront....chewy malts....burnt caramel...dashes of well mantained bourbon ....great depth and complexity....now I am tasting roasted chestnuts in the aftertaste.... Notes: man for an imperial stout this is top notch....pretty damn good drinkability too....almost baltic porter tones at times come to mind...very cool....

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2018 In aroma: chocolate, roasted coffee and a bit of vanilla. Deep black color. Beer has thick consistency and nice brownish head - very nice lacing. In the taste at the first place comes roasted malt and roasted coffee, then a bit of toffee and caramel - light sweetness. Then comes massive but pleasent bitterness. Alcohol is nicely hidden. Big beer.

Tasted 2018-01-02. Fresh bottle. Pours black with dark brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, fresh hops, liquorice and pumpernickel. Creamy texture. Powerful coffee-bitternes along with notes of vanilla. Very well balanced and definately up there with the very best stouts.

Spab (4235) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 30, 2017
650 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a virtually black colour with moderate-sized mocha-coloured head. Aroma is dark and roasty with espresso, pepper, anise and leather. Flavour has lots of roastiness, verging on charredness with spicy coffee, pepper, leather and anise. Slick mouthfeel. Nice.

colui72 (1160) - HONG KONG - DEC 25, 2017
Pours pitch black, thick, with a large brown head and circular lacing. Strong roasted malts aroma, with coffee and chocolate. Tastes sweet-bitter, strong roasted barley, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, leather, dark fruits. Good bitter and fruity hops to balance. Very thick beer, viscous, low carbonation and long roasty finish. Excellent.

anstei (2747) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - DEC 22, 2017

The aroma has elements of roasted coffee, chocolate malt. The body has a used black motor oil look. The head is robust brown stubbornly sticks to the glass. It has a bitter start and is followed by a bold roasted coffee malt taste. Has a thick viscous feel. Has a somewhat chalky cocoa finish. Has a hint of booziness in the background.

sawbuck (779) - Round Lake, Illinois, USA - DEC 16, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2017 Complex aroma... too much going on. Nice ebony color. Chocolate Nd some spices. Dry finish. Ok.
