Bottle. Pour is black with a thin head, aroma is toffee, caramel. Taste is roast malts, burnt coffee, bitterness, light zing, metallic. I’m assuming that the hops have faded because there’s not much there, decent nonetheless

Nocturne (2238) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2015
Cask at Leeds Brewery Tap. Near black with a finger of tan head. Light aroma but taste is a very strong hit of big coffee and chocolate chip cookie maltiness and plenty of fruity, citrussy hops. Almost a hoppy stout. A nice cask BIPA.

Opaque black, thin tan top. Smells of prune and other fruits, dates, maybe, with a faint hint of chocolate. Tastes of licorice and raisin and wholemeal bread. Long savour, a pleasant tang. Recommended

Bottle. Dark brow with beige head, short lacing. Aromas of roasted malts with some notes of chocolate and hopes behind. Full, rich, creamy body with very nice bitterness finish. Very robust black IPA.

Bottle shared at the Cafe Abseits tasting during the Bamberg Excursion. Cheers to Fergus for this one! Pours deep brown with a foamy tan head. Some earthy bitterness, charred malts, cocoa, burnt grass. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, with more burnt malts, charred toast, grass. Good stuff.
