Tasted this at the Troon BF on the 6th October 2017. Cask, gravity dispense. 1/3 pint. Dull black mahogany in colour with a thin white head. Strong fresh green hops in the bitter aroma, long in intensity. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malt complex gives an initial roast grain flavour which gives way to burnt toast notes from the black malt. Surprisingly thin on the malt front for 6.5% - what's generating the alcohol? Strong bitter resins impart a strong pine, cut grass and citrus flavours. Finish is bitter with those fresh green hop resins still dominant in the mouth with cloying citrus zest. An ok Black IPA but underwhelming for its strength!

on tap @ Bow Bar / Edinburgh Scotland --- Aroma of hops. Opaque black, deep tan head that drops to a thin cover, full lace curtain. Taste is semi-sweet malt that quickly takes on strong floral hops in a lightly carbonated swallow. A bold, satisfying brew.

Toward medium sweetness with medium plus bitterness. Medium body and slight oily texture. Carbonation is soft. Finish is dry and has a great level of bitterness.
