dark brown color. Very creamy white head. The nose explodes with vanilla, chocolate, espresso notes. Not sweet. Very lovely. The mouth is heavenly with treacles, chocolate fudge, vanilla and hazelnut all put together in a sweet delicate malty backbone. Fantastic. A real gentle beer that is superbly executed. Lingering hazelnut and chocolate finish. perhaps a bit too sweet for some, but I didnt mind at all

Cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh on 20 May. Poured black, with a dense beige head. Aroma was musky, with some sweet dark fruit and tobacco. Fairly light mouth feel. Flavours seemed a little muted, sweet fruit, and dark malt. Finish was prunes, ash and liquorice.

Cask @ Brewery Tap, Leeds. Black with a creamy off-white head. It has a mild roasted aroma but not very stated in its taste for a stout with a very wheat and malt based taste.

Guy Fawkes, York 26 Jan 13. Husl. Kjempemrk / rubinrd. Nesten svart. Lavt - litt farget skum. God sjokoladearoma. Smaken er kaffe/lakris/sjokolade. Litt metallisk. Antydning til plommer i ettersmaken. Litt tungdrikkelig.

Cask at EBF XVI, listed as treason porter but googling suggest this is the beer, 07/11/13. Very dark mshogony brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is dark fruits, light smoke, toffee. Taste comprises tangy fruits, treacle toffee, brown sugar, slightly lactic edge. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish with light roast. Ok stuff - nothing Id be rushing back to mind!

BeerViking (4564) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 9, 2013
Cask/gravity at the Egham beer festival 2013, deep dark red-black with a clinging off-white head, treacle toffee and grassy hops on on the nose, full bodied and creamy, clean yet complex, big treacle note with touches of chocolate and citrus, the fruity almost blackcurrant sweetness is very well balanced by the dry ashy bitterness. Super stuff!
