COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heads up…Parental Advisory. Brewed on the first day of spring. Put into barrels on the summer solstice. Bottled on the winter solstice…. Pours midnight black with a tight (and we mean tight) mocha tan head. Menacing indeed. Aromas of charcoal, vanilla, treacle, espresso and alcohol leap from the glass with each gentle swirl. The first drink offers a reminder of the girth of this beer, as notes of bourbon, chocolate, molasses and fig pack a wallop. Each subsequent sip leads to newfound discoveries of vanilla and coffee, wood and anise. Velvety smooth yet noticeable boozy, this full-bodied stout packs a delicate balance between sweetness, bitterness and barrel. Well rounded, complex and dangerous. Best enjoyed with friends and enemies alike.

A deep dark imperial stout with lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice chocolate malt with light bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, light acidity, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with licorice notes, molasses, bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. On tap at Brother’s Beer Bistro.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a nice bourbon character, followed by cocoa, and a little vanilla. Flavour is heavy on the bourbon, with loads of vanilla, cocoa and alcohol. Boozy but in a good way, leaving a warming effect. Really good.

Overheard: "I was fine until I started sipping this." "Maybe you should hand it over then."

Deep black pour. The nose is a little bit boozy but with very pronounced bourbon notes. Chewy and chocolatey with a touch of pepper. Rich and cocoa laden. Solid malt profile. Lovely.

[’Stout Night 2016’, Dec 16] Pours totally black with an average size semi-lasting frothy light-brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, some alcohol, some chocolate, light coffee and light leafy hops. (8+) Flavour of roasted malt, some alcohol, chocolate and a good amount of hops in the moderately roasty finish. Medium bodied. There’s alcohol there but for almost 12% it’s fairly subdued. Really, really good stuff.

Inky black pour. Bitter coffee, whisky and a rich, malty sweetness on the nose. Strong bourbon notes on the tongue (Damn this is a big beer), as well as molasses, dark chocolate, some dark fruit and a bit of licorice. Powerful stuff.

Black color. The strong alcohol cuts the sweetness of this beer, that is therefore medium; the flavor is mainly dark malts, some molasses, salty, and some bourbon barrel.
Good but too boozy.

Tasting ar Alex’s. 650ml bottle from Toronto (thx, Peter!). Pours an almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, bourbon barrel, leather, dark fruits. Taste is sweet, boozy, chocolate, bourbon. Roasted malt and hoppy bitterness aftertaste. Too much booziness for me, but it is still very good, though.
