Pale orange pour. Tropical mango and clementine with a touch of berry fruit and some moderate bitterness. Light malt sweetness and a bit of pear. There's a little bit of light zest and some fruit. Pretty solid brew. Doesn't drink like something 10%

[8944-20161220] Tap. Fruity melted caramel candy on bread aroma. Hazy, golden orange body with a quick foamy owe head. Bitter caramelized sugary evergreen woody hops flavour. Full body. Interesting. (8/3/7/3/14) 3.5

Can thanks to Karl. Opaque dirty orange with a nice creamy white head. Fresh but slightly muted pine resin, pineapple, some papaya, underlying booziness but wouldn’t have guessed 10%. Moderate carbonation and full body, fairly bitter, becomes dry with a lot of grapefruit and more booze plus mixed citrus. Interesting.

[Draught at Thirsty & Miserable] Pours a cloudy orange with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma of resiny hops, citrusy and fruity, along with sweet malt and some alcohol. Flavour follows, hoppy and fruity along with a big bitter finish. Alcohol is present but fairly well hidden. Medium bodied. Really good. My notes were sparse so I’d love to revisit this.

(473ml Dec 2/16 can thanks to Herbalist via phyllomedusa) ~ 2mo at drinking. Pours a fairly hazy medium orange with a small but quite persistent eggshell head that leaves a cap with fine lace. Aroma is quite sweet overall, caramel and moderate biscuit from the hefty malt backbone, citrus peel, sweet orange, canned pineapple, green leafy hops, very slightly piney. Flavour fairly sweet overall, quite some malt backbone, mostly caramel with a bit of biscuit. Sweet orange, marmalade, rather heavy potpourri/perfume floral notes, mixed citrus peels towards the finish, a touch leafy, but florals are particularly persistent. Quite some alcohol heat in the finish and especially aftertaste. Bitterness is quite low but the finish is rather hot and thus dry. The basic elements are there but things that I’d rather have dialed back are overblown instead - malt, dried flowers, booze heat. Not so drinkable in volume for me, happy I shared the can.

Can--thanks probstblueribbon. Potent stone fruit and pine aroma with some base malt backbone. Hazy emulsion, copper under a persistent tawny, off-white cover. Salty flavour from intense hops with ethanol and a moderate bitterness. Stone fruit then pine then strawberry hops flavour. Medium body, slightly warming, smooth.

Can from GLB. Cloudy orange amber under a small off white head foamy head. Nose is big pine resin, citrus and tropical fruit with mango and pineapple prominent. Flavour exhibits a bit more malt presence with a light toffee underneath the big citrus bitterness. Mouth is medium+ and slick with a lingering bitter finish. While it is quite warming the alcohol is quite well integrated. 8+4+/7+/4+/18-

2016-12-20. Hazy orange body modest beige head and lace. First sip is fairly boozey, lightly resiny bitter orange citrus hops, other fruit notes can’t quite sustain themselves before the alcohol regains control. Moderately sweet overall. Lingering alcohol and bitterness in the finish. Aroma has moderate alcohol, light sweet malt, moderate hops have light fruit and hop greenery. Okay. There are great highlights but ultimately it the prominent alcohol detracts, and the malt distracts a bit from the hops, at least for me. I have some cans so I may revisit the rating if they leave a different impression. 7/3/7/3/14-15 On tap at Bar Hop Brewco., Toronto.

On tap at Brothers Beer Bistro (Ottawa, ON). Beautiful. hazy orange/golden body with an average, lasting, off-white foaly/creamy head. Lovely hoppy aroma with malty, orange, and mango hints. Alcohol is subtle. Its well balanced, surprisingly smooth taste carries citrusy, herbal, and some woody notes. Ends with a long, sharp, moderately warming, bitter finish. Does not feel like 10% ABV at all. Great stuff.

Lighter amber pour, large head, loads of lace. Sweet aroma, caramel, milder tropical fruit, grapefruit, grassy. Milder grapefruit and resin notes up front, boozy, sweet malt. Medium body with a stick sweet aftertaste. Much preferred the previous incarnation of this.
