A dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, loads of coconut oil, dark fruits, molasses, very nice. In mouth, a smooth sweet fruity chocolate malt with light fruity notes, coconut oil, nutty notes, nice. Cask Days 2014.

Cask Days 2014. Pours a near black. Aroma is a smooth roast with coconut. Taste is a roasted coconut with dark chocolate and a hint of coffee. Medium body. Very smooth.

(On tap at A Night with GLB and Amsterdam Brewery @ Bar Hop, Sept 19 2014. Clear dark brown with a large tight tan head, lots of lace. Aroma lots of chocolate and fresh brewed coffee, coconut underneath, slight sweetness, moderate roast. On the palate drier, unsweetened chocolate powder, some lighter coffee notes, coconut is pretty restrained and the beer is pretty dry with a roast finish that emphasizes coffee. Coconut buttery character increases overall as it warms. A tick watery without highly concentrated flavours, but nicely drinkable porter. I would’ve liked a slightly bigger beer, probably personal taste really; my girlfriend thought it was very good.

2014-09-19. Black body with a nice tan head and light lace on the glass. 3+ Aroma has pleasant sweet coconut up front. Lightly toasty, surprisingly the coconut beats out the roast and coffee for prominence. Flavour is dry and dusty roast up front. Coffee bitterness in the second wave. Coconut is in the periphery if at all. Coffee grows as it warms to its detriment for my preferences. Smooth average plus bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Decent but not to my own tastes. A Night With GLB & Amsterdam Brewery event, Bar Hop, Toronto

Smooth porter, smooth drinker. Sample at Bar Hop tap takeover. Moderate coconut and coffee. Good porter.
