Tap at Volo
Aromavinous, fruity sweetness, some chocolate. Slight buzz of alcohol. Solid, pleasant nose.
Appearance poured as dark brown with tanned creamy top. Some lace shown. 4-
Flavor and Palate : Medium light bodied. Dry roast bit harsh frontal character. Cocoa, chocolate with drying heat of alcohol. Decent.

A deep dark IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, chocolate with peaty notes and boiled veggies with light sulfur. In mouth, a smooth chocolate with light sulfur, so-so.

Cask at Project X. Deep black pour with a little wisp of brown head. The aroma is great - very herbal and hoppy with a lot of both grassy and fruity hop flavour. Lean bodied but has a definite abundance of dark malt. Fresh and very tasty.

2011-02-10. Very dark brown-black body with a small frothy tan head. Pleasant aroma, sweet not quite caramel touches to the malt, light dusty cocoa touches, mild roast malt. 7+ Flavour is sweeter than expected, but finishes bitter with pleasant mild hop character and a very slight anise like note. 7+ Smooth average plus palate. Quite drinkable, I quite enjoyed this one. Cask at the brewery

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 [3590-20110210] Cask. Burnt green bark aroma. Black body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Dark green hoppy flavour seems a touch young. Full body. Tasty! Would like to see it aged a bit. (7/3/8/3/15) 3.6

Cask at Volo. Opaque black with three-quarter inch of off-white head. Wafts hops (Cascadian). Good, but not as good as it smells. AVerage mouthfeel. Decent bitterness, citrus and roastiness. Drinkable cask ale.
