Aroma strong intensity. Citrusy hops with golden malt feel. Slight hint of orange. Very nice.
Appearance hazy gold base with medium white top. No lace.
Flavor and Palate : consistency – dry. Easy going drinkability. Frisky carbonation. Body medium thin. Hop accented by citrus, tad pungent. Clean malts. Slightly tart with strong barrel character. Very nice ale.
[5498-20130618] Tap. Horsehair hoppy grass yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a quick creamy white head. Bitter buttered yeast grain flavour has a lemony boozy kick in the finish and a big crisp oaky white wine throughout. Medium body. Tasty, really interesting for the style. (7/3/8-/3/14) 3.5

Bottle at CGBD. Pours gold with a white head. Medium oaky notes, bright peachy fruity notes, hints of citrus and spice, and a long dry oaky finish. Really good. j12601 (13099) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Sampled this at Campground Brewdown 2, courtesy of Jeremy and Karen. Pours golden with a touch of haze under a thin white head. Peachy, soft and sweet, musk, light barrel and wood. Soft funky musk. Chewy wheat, spicy basil and herbs, perhaps some marjoram? Spicy, light floral musk. Tart wheat and fruity. Tasty, bright and vibrant. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 19, 2013

Draught at Bar Hop. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold with a spare diminishing fizzy white head. Mild aroma of subtle notes of wood and wine along with light herbs and spices. Flavour follows the aroma and has a big finish with lots of wood and some tartness. Average bodied. Milder then expected but pretty good. jercraigs (10886) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2013
2013-06-18. Hazy golden body small white head. Flavour has good amount of vinous white wine and oak character up front, moderate citrus has whispers of Sauvignon Blanc like lime but they are ephemeral. Woody oak is moderate to start but accumulates quickly and becomes one of the dominant characteristics. Average bodied palate, relatively effervescent carbonation. Fruity vinous aroma has similar white wine like fruit character as in the flavour. Light alcoholic notes and a dryish fresh oak character. Enjoyable. Pretty decent saison. Pours light cloudy gold with ok lacing and head. Soft carbonation. Has a tiny bit of barnyard aroma with some hops. Light dose of wine chardonnay as well. Finishes a little sour with good balance overall. Tap at Barhop. neongolden (1826) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 17, 2013
(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 16th 2013) Pours a clear deep gold with a tiny, fine white head with lace. I let this beer warm a fair bit before sampling and that really brought out the barrel. Aroma is almost unbelievably good extraction of barrel character, like a good oaked chard made with a more funky, barnyard-heavy yeast than most wines. The palate follows the nose, with an oaky buttery chardonnay character complimented by some earthy yeast and faint grains. The grain comes through a bit more in the finish along with a little light hop bitterness, just to reinforce that you’re not drinking wine, but the barrel character definitely lingers fairly prominently all the way through the finish. If you don’t like oaked white wine you probably won’t like this. Carbonation is quite restrained, body moderate to high for a saison. I love this beer. On tap at Bryden’s. Ordered multiples of this one. Yeast is the scent. Cloudy light coloured and lacy. Pepper, coriander. Very drinkable and here’s why: it’s tart when first served, and then white wine as it warms to room temperature. Smooth mouthfeel.
