COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
News of any new hop coming from the Yakima Valley perks the ears of IPA brewers everywhere, but, with Citra, things were different. The buzz was bigger. As Citras wave rolled across the land from the west coast we waited... and waited. Finally it crested, and a sample crashed into our pilot system. After brewing with it all the buzz made sense. Comments ranged from "Well that changes the game" to "Its so good it feels like were cheating." Today we procure as much as Citra as we can to bring you as much of this IPA as our little brewery can muster. All hail Citra!

Thanks to cfrancis for this one. Pours a partly hazy golden orange with a fluffy white head and soapy lace up the glass. Aroma if the signature Citra hop, tropical fruits, guava, mango and passionfruit with a delicate malt balance. Taste is mango, tropical fruits, guava and again with a delicate malt balance and bitterness. The bitterness on the finish borders astringent but never is. Alot of people use Citra but few use it this well! The best beer made by GLB!

Pours an almost clean golden-amber colour with a big warm cap, great retention and thick creamy lace. Beautiful fresh citrus zest aromas showing some grapefruit, orange and grass. Hints of caramel and cereal malts in the background. This base is slightly stronger in the mouth, blended by the citra hops giving a sharp dry finish, but then leading into a fresh grassy mild aftertaste. Seems like Belgian yeast get things together. This is a great well-balanced IPA with fresh citrusy hops that goes down smoothly. Would definitely have again.

Bouteille 660ml, gracieuset de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur jaune-orang trouble, mousse blanc cass majestueuse laissant une dentelle parse. Arme dagrumes, citron, houblon rsineux, malt, touche dananas. Got de houblon rsineux, avalanche agrumes, malt, amertume toute en longueur. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen.

Ive enjoyed about 8 bottles of this stuff in the last few weeks, so I figured I should finally get around to rating it. Pour is hazy dark gold with a creamy white cap that sticks to the glass. Nose is a pure Citra bomb: tons of grapefruit/citrus, tropical fruit and pine, with nice bready malt in the background. If possible this stuff tastes even better than it smells. Nice chewy, bready malt, a perfect balance between sweet and bitter, tons of exotic hop notes, and a lingering bitter finish. Another great Tank Ten product from these guys.

The smell and colour lend to a bitter punch off the top. Disappointingly the body waters out at the end. Decent taste but the finish can't keep up. Still a decent beer. Cut the abv down to 4% and this would be a real winner.

Pours golden with 3 fingers of dense off-white head. Strong aroma of pine and grapefruit. Tastes of same, with a little berry thrown in. Somewhat oily mouthfeel with a lingering sour hop bitterness in the aftertaste. A very nice IPA.

650 ml bottle from the LCBO.

Appearance: Pours a hazy pale orangish colour with over two fingers of head. Average retention with lots of lacing.

Aroma: Grapefruit, pine, green pepper.

Flavours: Mild grapefruit, flour, yeast, bit of pine.

Mouthfeel: Quite creamy.

Overall: The aroma was really great with this one but I was underwhelmed by the flavour. I was expecting a bit more hops and pine and Im not a hop head. Anyway, this is a good solid IPA but not a great one in my opinion.

Big floral citrus aroma. Golden and clear with a slightly rose gold hue, white dense head. Bitterness develops slowly, veggie/leafy flavour, some slight earthiness, medium bodied and fairly easy to drink. Lots of hops in this one, Ill be drinking it again.

Boutip (6214) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 18, 2015
Bottle: Poured a nice clear bright yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of huge floral hoppy notes of citrus with some leafy notes. Taste is dominated by the leafy and citrus hoppy notes with limited bitterness and some residual sugar notes clearly identifiable. Body is light with good carbonation. I really enjoyed this beer and love the aromatics and the balancing of the bitterness.
