COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The weather channel describes Lake Effect snow as a “mass of sufficiently cold air moving over a body of water creating an unstable temperature profile in the atmosphere.” Who cares. This beer, however, has nothing to do with that drivel. It was inspired by a summer spent drinking heaps of IPAs on a stoop on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, NY.

Backlog from old notes: Aroma is floral and spicey herbal with a pretty distinct pineapple scent. Taste is crisp and lemon zesty. Herbs come around once again with a slight grainy touch to it. Citrus and grapefruit fly around. I’d say that this is a quite different IPA, with some shady, leafy undertones, but never the less tasty and reviving.

Had the pleasure of enjoying this one at Arrow and Loon as a Nitro brew. That head reminds me a lot of the Valley Irish Red from Mill street at the Ottawa Brewpub but that’s where the similarities end. Pours a huge thick creamy head with a very cloudy, light coppery appearance. Lacing is thick and dirty. Some malty flavours but much more hoppy. Cascade hops are quite noticeable. Citrusy. Nice bitterness. Creamy, chalky mouthfeel. Astringent and drying sensation. Pretty good stuff.

Can sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks zvikar. Hazy amber-gold with a foamy head. A little skunky, faint grapefruit aroma. Bitter, dry taste, a little mint and leafy. Fizzy, medium body, long, dry leafy finish.

Somewhat hazy golden with a big juicy aroma. Citrusy and slight pine flavours. Excellent beer!

Can sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks Tom L. Nice cloudy yellow with a white head. Great aroma of tropical fruity and "green" hops, slightly hop-pellet-like. Flavor is rather dry with "green" and fruity hops, bitter. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Can from Lcbo A: passion fruit, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, citrusy App: milky pale lasting white head and great lacing. T/p: thin to med body with moderate long bitter finish. Soft to moderate carbonation. O: true unsweetened tropical juice. This is close to 2 months old, not super old but I’m quite surprised by this. Its nicely hoppy, all in fruitiness. Silly me, I only took 2 of this. Next time it cross my path, I’ll make sure to buy a sixer of it.
