COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The weather channel describes Lake Effect snow as a “mass of sufficiently cold air moving over a body of water creating an unstable temperature profile in the atmosphere.” Who cares. This beer, however, has nothing to do with that drivel. It was inspired by a summer spent drinking heaps of IPAs on a stoop on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, NY.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Hazy orangey yellow with white head. Aroma of tropical hops (mango, mild pineapple and orange), subtle caramel malt, mild funk and some grassy hops. Taste has very predominant orange hop flavour with a little grass and malt. Great flavour, only medium bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2015 A hazy light orange body with a medium sized white head. The aromas, are citrus and pine swirling together. Tastes echo that, and there is the definite presence of bitter orange peel. This is a fantastic IPA that I could drink regularly, and a true illustration of the heights their Tank Ten series is capable of achieving.

Thanks to Harrison_gord for this one! Pours a really, really hazy golden, might as well say cloudy, with a thin white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of tropical fruits and slight onions. Taste is moderately bitter and not an ounce too sweet. Flavors are of pine, citrus and fruits. Body is medium and carbonation high. Finish is bitter and dry, of moderate length. Overall a fine brew, my expectation were a little high on this one and it didn’t really disappoint but it could have been better I think. Next batch, maybe?

Belle couleur dorée avec une belle mousse blanche. Aromes de fruits tropicaux, résine, herbes. Umne bonne ipa!

Pour is orangey gold with two fingers of snow white cap. Nose is hop heaven: citrus, peach, tropical fruit and pine with a slightly spicy caramel malt backdrop. Nice sweet caramel malt with tropical fruit and citrus notes. It’s pretty full-bodied, oily/slick, average/lively carbonation and a nice long bitter pine/grapefruit finish. I friggin love this stuff, even in the dead of winter.

Blonde paille. Belle mousse blanche. Bien houblonné. Beau corps. Forte amertume. Légèrement sucré quoique rapidement sèche. Fruité. Florale. Un peu résineuse. Très bien.

Clear gold look, lasting white cap. Slightly catty nose. The underlying fruit sweetness is nicely peachy rather than malt-sugary, and the hop bittering has a nice zing of citrus and contributes to the mentioned fruity notes, without adding too much woody dry bitterness. Finish is a bit furry and warm with alcohol but pretty clean. Bottles from Waverley LCBO.

650ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Golden orange in colour with a large and lasting white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of citrus, pine, some caramel. The flavour is of peaches, orange citrus, pine, light bitterness. Finishes long, moderate hop bitterness.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2015 Big blast of grapefruit on the nose - intoxicating aroma, really - then more grapefruit and lemon with some pine at the end. I rated this months ago and said the beer lacked punch: perhaps it was just an off beer because this IPA is quite good. It ain’t no Karma Citra, but then what is?
