COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The weather channel describes Lake Effect snow as a mass of sufficiently cold air moving over a body of water creating an unstable temperature profile in the atmosphere. Who cares. This beer, however, has nothing to do with that drivel. It was inspired by a summer spent drinking heaps of IPAs on a stoop on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, NY.

Thanks to cfrancis for this one. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a huge frothy white head and tons of lacing. Aroma of sweet pale malts, light caramel, guava, passionfruit, mango and other tropical fruits with a light touch of grass in the background. Taste is an extremely well balance of tropical fruit hops, sweet pale malts and bitterness. Nothing harsh is found up front or in the finish and just an absolute pleasure to drink!

Bottle @ ZZT 9 thanks to Joes. Hazy orange color, decent sized white head that leaves fair lacing. Aroma has malts, hops, fruityness of mango and pineapple. Taste malts, hops, bitter, fruity. In the end theres more bitterness than fruityness. Nice though!

65 cl bottle.
Pours slightly hazy golden color with a large white head. Lots of sediment on the second pour. Aroma is nice and fruity, a bit floral or perfumey even, pine needles and gooseberry bush. Flavor of citric fruits, sweetish caramel malts, some resinous hops and gooseberries. Refreshing bitter palate, lingering citric aftertaste. Nice.

randallpink (13) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 31, 2014
served in an IPA glass A - pours a slightly hazy golden copper with a 2 inch off white (tan) head, great retention, and the glass laces beautifully. the frothy head dissipates into a slightly rocky covering on the beer. S - strong hoppyness, citrus, mango, grapefruit, strawberry & pineapple esters, tropical fruits, light malty breadiness, biscuity sweetness, maybe even some red cherries. this has got to be one of, if not the best IPA ive ever smelled. i was smelling the bottle still two hours after id finished the beer. WOW! T - bitter hoppyness off the start with a slight sweetness from the malts that melts perfectly together. citrus, piney and grapefruit definitely present. a light caramel mixed with fresh biscuits becomes more pronounced as the beer warms. tropical fruit and passionfruit tastes all lead to the bitter, hoppy finish that leaves a nice citrusy, piney, fruity taste lingering. M - smooth, slightly creamy feel, mostly bitter but a nice fruity sweetness makes things interesting. medium body, dry & bitter finish, low alcohol present O - I love Great Lakes! Im always blown away by their beers and this one was no different. One of the best IPAs Ive had and definitely takes a run at Canadas best. This was my last of six bottles and there doesnt seem to be too many left floating around out there so ill probably have to wait a while to have it again, but ill be licking my lips the whole time. Bring it back soon! :)
