COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The weather channel describes Lake Effect snow as a “mass of sufficiently cold air moving over a body of water creating an unstable temperature profile in the atmosphere.” Who cares. This beer, however, has nothing to do with that drivel. It was inspired by a summer spent drinking heaps of IPAs on a stoop on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, NY.

Hazy blonde. Thin head. Clean biscuity malts, blueberry and grapefruit, smooth real tasty beer. Fuuu...toasty, biscuity, but clean moderate citrus bitterness. Real good IPA.

Bottle @ ZZT 9 thanks to Joes. Hazy orange color, decent sized white head that leaves fair lacing. Aroma has malts, hops, fruityness of mango and pineapple. Taste malts, hops, bitter, fruity. In the end there’s more bitterness than fruityness. Nice though!

Can sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks Tom L. Nice cloudy yellow with a white head. Great aroma of tropical fruity and "green" hops, slightly hop-pellet-like. Flavor is rather dry with "green" and fruity hops, bitter. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

A lightly hazed IPA with a thin white head. In aroma, a pungent floral oily hops with light musky notes, sulfur, nice. In mouth, a smooth grassy malt with catty floral hops, grapefruit pulp, decent. Cask at Ontario Cask IPA Challenge, April 21, 2012.

Sample at the Strange Brew Tasting on 02/18/2012. The beer is a mostly clear yellow-gold color with a medium thin bone white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of hops, citrus, pine and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2013 a reddish tinge to this one. A big IBU, big bitterness, very tasty. Neutral aroma. Backed up by a decent malt backbone. Had this on nitro, which lessened the bitterness gave it a lace sheet, more drinkable.

Bottle, shared with Parksy, Grippitis, and Ian; sent to me by Sammy. The bottle leaked a little in transit, so I was kind of worried about this little fella. My fears were unfounded, as the pour was lively with brisk carbonation and excellent head formation. Beautiful perfumey grapefruit and mango hop character, very fresh and zippy. Intensely bitter finish. Light caramel malts allow for supreme expression of hop character. A really terrific IPA-- thanks Sammy!

UPDATED: APR 25, 2012 2012-04-21. Lightly hazy orange body. Big aroma, odd funky grapefruit, pith, bit odd but enjoyable. 7+ Flavour has a good amount of grapefruit, but of tropical fruit and modest bitterness throughout. 7+ Average to light bodied palate, light carbonation. Enjoyable, this was one of the better ones of the day but I think it is much better presented on tap. 7+/3/7+/3/15+ Blind Tasting on Cask at Volo IPA Challenge

2011-11-25. Crisp orange body, small white head. 3+ Lovely hoppy bitterness, nice citrus character, orange and tangerine, light resin touches. Yumm! 9+ Modest aroma, mild citrus notes. 7+ Average bodied palate. 3+ Lovely IPA. 8/3/9/3/18 - 4.1 On tap at Volo, Toronto
