[4371-20120412] Tap. Fruity roast malt aroma. Brown black body with a quick bubbly tan head. Bitter roasted raisin malt flavour has a lingering smoky bitter hoppy leaf aftertaste. full body is surprisingly bitter. Tasty, quite drinkable, but a little young with the hops. (8/3-/8+/4/16) 3.9+

2012-04-12. The valley of Minas Queensway passed into evil very long ago... that city was once a strong place... but it was taken by fell men whom the Lackey in his first strength had dominated... It is said that their lords were men of Barley who had mashed into dark wickedness; to them the Lackey had given kegs of power, and he had devoured them: living ghosts they were become, terrible and evil. Nine Lords there were, and after the return of their Fermenter, which they aided and prepared in secret, they grew strong again. Then the Nine Brewers issued forth from the gates of horror, and we could not withstand them. Do not approach their mash tun. You will be espied. It is a place of sleepless malice, full of bitter hops. Do not go that way! Black headless body. 3+ Flavour is pleasant, showing light alcohol and a fair bit of hoppy bitterness, light herbal undertone lingers pleasantly in the aftertaste. Aroma is shy and requires some teasing out to fully explore it, mild leafy-earthy hops, herbal character similar to that in the flavour. 7+ Smooth medium to full bodied palate is lightly carbonated. Pretty solid, enjoyable, I found this the most interesting of the evening, but less repeatable than the Anniversary porter. UPDATED: APR 13, 2012 Draught at Project X, The Victory Café. Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a small diminishing creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee, a good amount of hops and some herbs. Flavour is roasty and hoppy followed by notes of coffee, chocolate and herbs. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. A really solid Baltic Porter. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.
