COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In our pursuit to bring you the most flavourful and unique beers possible, we are proud to release this tasty autumn ale. Handcrafted with an assortment of specialty malts and hops, we added a generous amount of pumpkin directly into the brew. Combine this with hints of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice, and you’ve got a beer that you won’t soon forget. Rich, satisfying and slightly spicy, our seasonal ale goes perfectly with your favourite dessert or traditional feast. But like fall, Pumpkin Ale comes but once a year!

650ml brown bottle. Gold colour, hazy, average white head. Nose has cloves and cinnamon. Taste is earthy with cloves and some bitter notes. A decent pumpkin beer.

Hazy yellow color with off-white head. Aroma has mostly spices associated with pumpkin pie but not really raw pumpkin. Taste has some spiced biscuits, grains and earthy hops with a light bitterness on the finish. Light body, medium carbonation. Overall it’s decent but nothing really special.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2016 Draught at The Local. Light brown with a vague oranginess. No head to speak of. Smells faintly of pumpkin with a hint of vanilla and pie spices. Vague pumpkin pie flavour with some malt and biscuit and an odd astringent aftertaste. I’ve had this beer in previous years, and it’s very inconsistent; some years are better than others, and this year’s isn’t that great.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2016 Not my favourite genre of beer. Fridge getting low & this seemed a strategic choice (eg I love this brewery) but I kind of wish I could just take out the garish spices (that are so integral to this style) & enjoy the base beer. Pumpkin ok, but this is mostly just clove & cinnamon. My sweet nephew (who is also a body builder) Tristan loves this beer & cthulhu bless him but I just can’t dig this. Of course, given the brewer & base beer, this is solid & better than most straight ahead pumpkin ales.

Bottle:   Comes across as a very solid example of a Pumpkin Ale.   Soft sediment floating about in a orange haze, small white head, foamy, little lacing.   Bright nutmeg and soft clove on the nose that carries through onto the tongue.   Lingers quite a while after the finish.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Flavorful from start to finish.   Solid example.   Thanks Mike!

Bottled. Sweet artificial aroma, the taste has too much cinnamon. Not refreshing at all.

Pours orange with an off white head. Aroma is a mixture of pumpkin pie and gingerbread. Taste is same as aroma with a dry finish. All around great beer, I’ll definitely be drinking this again.

It tastes like Christmas ale without the alcohol heat. Never again. Never, never again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Overall a very good pumpkin ale. Good balanced aroma of cinamon, pumpkin and ginger Taste is cinamon, pumpkin, ginger with a dry boozy finish. Refreshing. Anytime again!

0.65 bottle. Delicately hazy, gold color and a large, thick, white head. Aroma of spices is foremost with pumpkin and pale malts coming in second. Taste is balanced and does not strike with an avalanche of spices but rather slowly introduces all the components: pumpkin, spices, pale malts, some yeasts, cinnamon, carnations. Medium body, creamy texture, and a very soft carbonation. Finish is short, delicately sweet and just as unimposing as the rest. Overall a pleasant beer, an unusual breakout from the sea of pumpkin ales which have a more pungent aroma than pumpkins themselves.
