In our pursuit to bring you the most flavourful and unique beers possible, we are proud to release this tasty autumn ale. Handcrafted with an assortment of specialty malts and hops, we added a generous amount of pumpkin directly into the brew. Combine this with hints of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice, and youve got a beer that you wont soon forget. Rich, satisfying and slightly spicy, our seasonal ale goes perfectly with your favourite dessert or traditional feast. But like fall, Pumpkin Ale comes but once a year!

Bomber from the lcbo in Niagara on the Lake, Americas Hat. Pours a golden amber caped by a silkey off white head with maximum amount or retention. Gobs of bubbling carbonation gives it staying power. Nose has an inviting mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Taste is a powerful dose of cinnamon upfront followed by nutmeg. The bottles claims are "generous amount of pumpkin." I just dont see any pumpkin at all. Sweetness comes in afterward from pale and caramel malt. Medium body.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2016 Not my favourite genre of beer. Fridge getting low & this seemed a strategic choice (eg I love this brewery) but I kind of wish I could just take out the garish spices (that are so integral to this style) & enjoy the base beer. Pumpkin ok, but this is mostly just clove & cinnamon. My sweet nephew (who is also a body builder) Tristan loves this beer & cthulhu bless him but I just cant dig this. Of course, given the brewer & base beer, this is solid & better than most straight ahead pumpkin ales.

Bottle:   Comes across as a very solid example of a Pumpkin Ale.   Soft sediment floating about in a orange haze, small white head, foamy, little lacing.   Bright nutmeg and soft clove on the nose that carries through onto the tongue.   Lingers quite a while after the finish.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Flavorful from start to finish.   Solid example.   Thanks Mike!

Bottled. Sweet artificial aroma, the taste has too much cinnamon. Not refreshing at all.

Pours orange with an off white head. Aroma is a mixture of pumpkin pie and gingerbread. Taste is same as aroma with a dry finish. All around great beer, Ill definitely be drinking this again.

It tastes like Christmas ale without the alcohol heat. Never again. Never, never again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.65 bottle. Delicately hazy, gold color and a large, thick, white head. Aroma of spices is foremost with pumpkin and pale malts coming in second. Taste is balanced and does not strike with an avalanche of spices but rather slowly introduces all the components: pumpkin, spices, pale malts, some yeasts, cinnamon, carnations. Medium body, creamy texture, and a very soft carbonation. Finish is short, delicately sweet and just as unimposing as the rest. Overall a pleasant beer, an unusual breakout from the sea of pumpkin ales which have a more pungent aroma than pumpkins themselves.

I like pumpkin pie and this is pretty much pumpkin pie in a glass. One of the best pumpkin beers Ive had.

Bottle to pint glass I love pumpkin beers as a local craft brewery in my brothers town was selling growlers 15 years ago. That beer was one of my gateway beers and its something that Im always chasing this time of year. This smells like pumpkin and I also get clove and nutmeg along with a light caramel. Its a clear, but slightly hazy, amber with a 1/2 cm long lasting, creamy off white head. Taste is pumpkin, nutmeg, clove, malts, and a nice overarching bitterness. Pretty good, Great Lakes Brewery.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2015 Bottle from LCBO. Slightly hazy, pale amber. Heads moderate, off-white, and disappears rather fast. The nose is pretty nice - not dominated by the usual marinated or roasted pumpkin, rather, the pumpkin here is very pure, clear, and is seconded by a nice proper beer aroma. So its nice and pumpkiny, but also grainy, with very subtle notes of spices. The flavour is similarily very light in the pumpkin department, with a bandaid-like chemical burning bitter finish. Very active, thin carbonation - a bit too aggressive even. Somewhat light on the body. If someone told its from last year, Id believe them.

Oh my. The imprint on lower end of the bottle does say 09/15, so... is this really the BB date? (If so... another massive fuck you @ LCBO.)

Edit: I had forgotten I had a tap sample of this at The Beer Experience before the bottle, and guess what, my above rating is almost exactly the same...
