473 mL Can. Deep amber body with a thin but tenacious foamy white head leaving ample lace. Aroma of sweet light malts with grassy hops and a floral note. The flavor speaks of a light body; refreshing but without being short on taste. Light sweet malts with just the right amount of hops to make it a great session beer. The light sweet malts and soupçon of toasted malts linger off into a clean finish seeming to invite the beer drinker to take another sip. I’m taking some of this on my next fishing trip. Pours a dark Amber, with a small bubbly head. Aroma has notes of nuts, caramel, toffee, and lightly toasted malt. Tasting notes include nuts, caramel, and rich malts. Mouth feel is slick and warm. Delicious!! MarkoR (959) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 29, 2005
I really liked that beer. Interesting aroma with traces of wood. Better than Rickard’s Red. Amber colour. Drinked in bottle. whitecap (289) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 1, 2011
341ml bottle from the LCBO. note: black label bottle with red writing. I believe this beer has been improved since its inception. Reviewing the new bottle from 2011. Pours clear off-red with minimal white head. caramel and malt aroma. Simple sweet taste of caramel malt. highly drinkable but nothing exceptional. gilvanblight (825) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2008
Burnt Sienna colour with a very light soapy head. Smokey warm and slighly nutty scent. Watery at first but then a nice malty rise. Thick flavourful finish. Rahter nice. I could see drinking this all night. The more I have the more I like it. Wish this was avaliable locally all the time.

473ml can from the brewery.
Pours a crystal clear, dark caramel colour with a one finger, off-white head that thins fast. Mild ring lacing clings to the glass.
Aroma has notes of bread and caramel, with hints of vanilla, laced with roasted malts.
Taste is a balanced bitter with a bready caramel finish.
Low-medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Crisp and fairly clean in the mouth. Highly drinkable and moderately refreshing.
Overall not bad. Nothing offensive but nothing that blows me away. Definitely more malt forward but that isn’t a bad thing. I would probably buy again to switch it up from the IPAs. Could be a good well rounded brew to have around to offer to people that might not like a more crafted taste. Cheers! ChadPoole (478) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 16, 2016
Pours clear dark amber with a small off white head. Aroma is carmel malt and nuts. Has a carmel, roasted nuts and toffee with a mild sweetness and a smooth body. A good easy drinking beer TaktikMTL (7733) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 19, 2006
(Rating #708) Barnabus (52) - Niagara, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 15, 2008
Bottle from the OCB pack. Good mouth-feel is the best I can say. The aroma is lightly sweet with no hops. A pronounced caramel flavour. Strangely though, I enjoyed it overall. 97hill (190) - - JAN 7, 2017
Not bad but not great, easy drinking and pleasant but lacking.
Had heard this was their answer to a certain "Red" on tap in a bjillion bars. Based on that this is superior, just not my usual GLB expectation.
As I drink this it is actually very thin, was expecting better
