2012-09-20. Dark orange body with a small beige head. 3+ Strong aroma of an ol canvas tent, but not as unpleasant as that probably sounds, funky very light barnyard accents, sort of woody at first, becomes fairly woody. 6+ Flavour is fairly sour, refreshingly so, pretty woody, tanniny, sort of odd melange of the above lingers in the finish. 6+ I love the sourness of it, but I am not a fan of how the wood presents itself. Smooth average plus palate with low carbonation. Okay. Volo Funk Night, Toronto

[4805-20120920] Tap. Sweet barrelly doughy yeast aroma. Clear, bright orange body with a quick bubbly head. Boozy fruitcake yeast and soured gourd funk flavour. Medium body is super funky sour. Really interesting to sample. (7/3/8/4/16) 3.8

Draught at Volo for Funk Night, Sept.20. Pours a nice deep amber with a small diminishing bubbly white head. Aroma of wood first followed by some funkyness and interesting sour fruit. Flavour of sour fruit and spices, yeasty and slightly funky -- get’s pretty sweet after a while but it’s tasty. Average to medium bodied. An interesting beer and good one at that.

Day after Volo Funk Night II. Brett and tanic wine aroma. Light orange coloured body without a retained head. Dry finish. Cherry tartness that overwhelms the pumpkin. The two don’t normally go together. Unredeemable as a cross style. One or the other.
