Copper..rubyish color..slight head..nose of cinnamon, clove, and spiced cookie..palate is very clean and flavorful..honey and ginger intertwine very well and provide a backdrop to other flavors..extremely drinkable with almost no recognition of the higher abv on the sip..however on finish reminds and feels like sipping a holiday ale by the fireplace with a Christmas tree smell in the room..has characteristics of both a pumpkin/ spiced ale and a Christmas offering..which makes this unique..quite enjoyable and can see why bigger fans of the style would seek this out and horde a stash for holiday events..

Pours very clear light copper, almost off white head. Aroma starts malty, then ginger and honey hits strongly. Taste is surprisingly hop forward (or is that cinnamon bite with orange notes?), with hints of the ginger, cinnamon and honey. Mouthful is medium to heavy.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Raleigh (North Hills). Enjoy by February 17, 2017. Rusty orange pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of graham cracker with faint ginger. Obvious graham cracker notes in the taste with shades of cinnamon, ginger, and clove. Finish isnt too sweet. Fine for what it is but Im not excited about revisiting.

DATE: January 13, 2017... OCCASION: Watching Avatar with the boys for the first time... special stuff... GLASSWARE: Mad Elf snifter... pours a dark amber body with a scarcity of bubbles... a thin ring of white encircles a small island of patchiness... at 7.5% ABV, expectedly short on head... cinnamon, nutmeg, apple, pear, rum, bright citrus (orange peel, lemon)... first sip is vibrant, warming, effervescent and driven to the tongue... a robust, full-bodied sipper that leaves a palatable aftertaste... cherry, apple, cinnamon, light nutmeg, light bread malts, and a sweetness that entices... a BIG flavored ale that warms and welcomes without weighting you down... doesnt compare or compete with more nuanced or developed seasonals...still, quite solid...

Golden amber, lightly carbonated. 1 inch slightly off-white head receding to a foamy cap. Spicy aroma, ginger, with a mix of perhaps floral-ish notes. Smooth feel. Taste follows the aroma, with the ginger / spice dominating, but to me it just tastes a bit odd; I cant pin it down. No bittering to speak of, with the ginger lingering into the finish and aftertaste. There is no sense of alcohol warmth, either. Overall, disappointing.

Cereal malt smell and nothing else...a bit disappointed in that...taste is the same with light spices... disappointed that it isnt more spiced and hearty...one dimensional....in Syracuse for 15th high school reunion
