3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had to catch myself and rate the last one of the six-pack before it ran out. This is a nice, well, gold color with minimal but pleasant head and lacing. Aroma is light dough, laced with caramel and some vegetal hoppiness. Flavor is nicely balanced and complex grain, clean and woodsy hoppiness. Really a perfect balance between residual sweetness and hoppiness here. Really good stuff.
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2017 Bottle poured into a lager glass. Dark gold color with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, yeast, and a small amount of hops. Initial taste has a sweet character with citrus, grassy hops, and plenty of malt to balance. Aftertaste is lightly bitter with a little hay and grassy hops. Fairly light body and zingy carbonation. A lager full of flavor. balloonbuffoon (392) - - AUG 15, 2017
12floz bottle, BBD: 10.21.2017, ~$1.75 unit price, poured into a nonic glass. It appears a goldeny, golden, gold color topped off with an off-white head. Smell in my amateur opinion is of German malts - hearty, heath bread. I’ve had this before, so I know it is good, but I gotta say this is a phenomenal beer in the traditional-pale lager realm of styles. As is the case with pilsners (or any style), many can be pretty good, but when one really hits the spot it sets itself off from the rest. This is that kind of beer. Perfect light-medium body composition that is also full flavored in honey-buttered bread flavor. Mmm...good, a wow beer for me. markas101 (2468) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 19, 2017
Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Deep gold. Bready cereal aroma. Same om the first sip. Mild spice with honey finish. Hopper8 (197) - Holland, Michigan, USA - MAY 4, 2017
This is what I’m talking about. What a nice Lager style beer. The malts and Hops balance together smoothly to make a nice grain profile to the beer. Slight malt off taste at the end, but kinda also makes the beer enjoyable. Definitely a go to session beer. ginotarugo (70) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 17, 2017
First few drinks had kind of a "skunked" beer taste. Got a little bit better as I drank more and complemented it with some yummy bread. Decent ABV. Slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Average at best. Won’t be drinking again. Penn Gold is better example of this style (as far as taste). Still trying to find a brew from Great Lakes Brewing that I like.

Pours a deep gold with a thick white head and nice lacing. Heavy malt aroma with some sweetness. Taste follows nose. Seems thicker than it probably is. Not fond of the aftertaste. stevoj (5286) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 14, 2017
Bottle from Giant. Nice rich golden color, clear, initial foamy head fades to skin. Nice grainy, grassy aroma, hay. Taste even moreso, smooth, grains prevalent, slightly sweet, Beautiful malty flavors, a bit sticky, which coast the tongue and makes the flavors linger. Nice! Bottle. Orange gold in color poured with a white head that quickly dissipated. Very light malty aroma with caramel, honey and a little fruitiness in the flavor. Clean mouth feel. geologyguy (1613) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - DEC 9, 2016
Cereal grain smell, taste is cereal malt sweet but not quite too much, one dimensional, smooth, low carbonation, like cereal water really...in Syracuse for 15th high school reunion skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 20, 2016
Pours golden with a half finger white head with just some lacing. Aroma is of bready malts, sweet malts, floral hops, grass, earthy hops, caramel, and some biscuit malts. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Has a medium-light body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, slightly bitter, medium finish. Overall, a tasty, easy drinking, sessionable helles.
